Re: scored some model ms
I second the suggestion that a thorough cleaning and a bolt mod will likely solve your "feel" problems.
Do late model m's with a plastic barrel plate not feel worse than early m's? All the keys feel consistent its just consistently average. Compared to one from 1988 at my school all the keys ...

scored some model ms
my friend found these at her job in storage. She got them all for free ;)
they are all pretty late model ms, from 97,99,02 respectively. Because of that they don't feel too good so im thinking about swapping an older keyboard module into one of the industrial cases. Is this easy to do?

Making a 65% Pingmaster?
I got this idea after seeing the vortex pc66, and noticing it is very similar in case design and size to the pingmaster.

Basically my idea is to cut the plate of the pingmaster down to the main 65% section, put that in this case, and handwire a replacement ...

What? Do you have a picture? This makes no sense to me. :)

Ive dailied a f xt for about 3 years, and it was no issue. Simply bind backslash to windows, asterix or caps lock for function, make ` ~ return, and i type just like any ansi board

Remapping > < key on Omnikey Ultra T
I am trying to make it so the dedicated greater than less than key is remapped to super, but when I check the scancodes all it is doing is pressing the comma or period key, and pressing shift. This makes me think its not possible to remap it? I am using a soarers converter and have never remapped ...

Are there any plans to close orders for these keyboards? I don't have the finances to get one right now but would hate if a couple months from now they are no longer available for purchase.

Re: Fixing Omnikey Ultra
Did you just take apart the switch tops or did you desolder them?
Beside suspected coffee in this instance, old keyboards often have *lots* of rosin flux on the bottom, I've seen this on both AEK IIs and AT101s, wouldn't be surprised old Focus boards have the same.
Is this a single layer and ...

Fixing Omnikey Ultra
I just bought an Omnikey Ultra T and it was in way worse condition internally than I expected. The switches were pretty much unusable, but I cleaned those up and they feel pretty nice. I have nos ones coming in so I'm not too worried about them. What I am worried about is that I'm pretty sure coffee ...

Re: Can you put a model f xt into a bigfoot case?
Fair enough! All things considered, you're simply missing out on higher feet, terminal-style keycap legends that you could source elsewhere (a few of them are the same as battleship/battlecruiser keycaps, with battlecruisers currently decently priced around £69-89 here in the UK), and a built in ...

Re: Can you put a model f xt into a bigfoot case?
I guess I'll have to find a bigfoot case eventually. I don't think I could ever use it a daily driver and I can't spend full price for a novelty that I would need to spend more time on converting. So just using my old xt board seems perfect.

I saw someone selling just the case of a bigfoot for whatever reason and it got me wondering if you could buy both cases and swap them around depending on what you wanted at the time

if it's reliable and feels good then I don't see how a switch design could be flawed. SKCM does those two criteria pretty well imo.

How do zealios compare to alps tactitltiy and smoothness? I'm thinking about building a board and wanted to know if they would be disappointing compared to orange alps. Reddit seems to like them a lot but I feel like thats just compared to other mx style switches.
