Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
@numist, can you post a picture of both ends of the soldering? Sometimes just a little bend / pressure can cause a column not to register if the soldering has a flaw. I had this with my self modified keyboards. I neglected to take any pictures of the solder job when it arrived, but here's how it lo...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
Here's a puzzler, I got my F62 today (woo!), it appears to have the QMK flashed, and right off the bat the column for 56tghb (and space) wasn't working. The soldering was pretty rough; on the board side half the pins had no visible solder and on the controller side they had gobs of it, including a b...

Re: Alternative capsense patterns testing
Ahh you're right, I had. And worse, I was hoping to use polycarbonate as a back plate to show off the insides.
I guess I still can if I design a ground plane into the PCB, but there won't be much left to see.

Re: Alternative capsense patterns testing
Yeah 2 caps in series is a better way to think about it. Hmm, it's been a while since college physics, but if memory serves the capacitance should drop with the square of the distance between the plates, so by placing a floating plate in between you should improve SNR fairly significantly. The weird...

Re: Alternative capsense patterns testing
I always assumed the rectangular pads were made to maximize area coverage for the corresponding cap plates (flippers for the model F, sense pads for ROS), since boards like the Realforce use semicircle pads that match the shape of the springs. Anyway, thanks for posting your results! I've been think...
