Re: I Plug In, I Type: Steel Series Apex Pro

A friend of mine has the 2021/2022 TKL version with the smaller OLED screen and I can confirm that the switches are very smooth and actually nice to type on. The LED backlighting can be turned off. Also the typing sound isn't high pitched and more like a "tock" sound. For someone who's in the market...

Re: Linux DAC USB headphones+mic+speakers suggestions?

I'm using an Audinst HUD-MX2 since a few years on Linux and Windows. One of the main reasons I've bought it is that it's easy to switch between head phones and speakers and it has an optical input as well. Finding sth. with comparable features was pretty hard a few years ago. EDIT: sorry I've should...

[...] Yes, but that key's placement is surprisingly idiotic. Even Logitech does it better: I disagree, with the placement like this there's just an additional key available while the whole FN row stays the same. The way Logitech did it shifted the whole FN row to the left. I quite like it, PCB moun...

Re: Richard Hunter Harris' switch prototypes

[...] A switch described as "snap action" which I don't really understand how it works: https://patents.google.com/patent/EP0075088B1/en https://patentimages.storage.googleapis.com/fe/ab/65/29d026aa82cf75/imgf0001.png [...] Interesting! I've read a little bit in the patent and the switch and the wh...

Re: Recommendations for a desk pad?

Although you've already found a nice deskpad I'd like add another recommendation: https://en.sharkoon.com/product/GaMa1337#spec4 Available in different sizes, I'm using the XXL one for more than two years now and can't complain. The logo isn't that big and can be covered with the keyboard if it's pu...

Re: has the trackball landscape changed in any way lately?

Owning both a CST trackball and a Kensington Slimblade I'm only using the Slimblade since several years now. The distinct feature what I like about the Slimblade compare to the CST is that its flatter and that it has four buttons which are separated from the movement and/or scrolling mechanism. The ...

Another hobby of mine from the past :-). I still have my measuring microphone and 3 Clarion amps laying around and a lot of cables, cable lugs and tools to handle the thick cables. Can you elaborate a little bit how this is done technically? Are there new machines needed or can this be done with the usual machines?

Replacing the switches by yourself usually doesn't pay out. I'd recommend selling the boards as-is. Everyone likes to buy projects for themselves in order to have sth. for tinkering around with.

Thanks for your review. Classic example of setting the wrong priorities during product development in my opinion. What I like is the backup contact inside the switch. Would be interesting if they remove it in the future to save some money like they apparently did with the LED lens.

I'd suggest the G80-3000 page. And additionally a sentence on the G81 page linking/referencing to the paragraph on the G80-3000 page.

I wasn't able to reproduce this on my G80-3000 neither. I'm using a USB to PS2 converter though.
Once I attach it via USB the problem is reproducible. My G80-3000 has a date code of 39Y (2012).

Nice, this looks promising :) I've just grew some sun flowers in my kitchen and put them outside into the garden a few days ago.
Does the lettuce grown with this method taste differently compared to traditionally produced ones in soil?
