Given how tall beamsprings are, adding a wide area below the spacebar as a palm rest might be a good idea.

Re: READY - $10 - DIY Through Hole Universal Model F and Beamspring Controller
pandrew helped me offline, I ended up building another controller (I had ordered multiple PCB's) and I got the one I built today working great. In fact, I'm typing this in on the model F. I'll spend some time to see if I can figure out what is wrong with the other controller - I'm curious more ...

I'd also check if you slided the backplate all the way into position. If the flippers are somehow misaligned it could also cause extra keystrokes.

I get a suspicion that this has something to do with your Numlock status. If numlock is off, numpad 4 becomes left arrow, and alt+left arrow will trigger a browser back.

Agree that accuracy clicking is sometimes a problem, but the time savings for not having to move my hand away from home row to use the mouse outweighs this one flaw.

Yeah, the paper label / birth certificate is what I meant.
This is actually the first f122 I've seen that doesn't have a laminated paper label, which is strange since I know many much later model m's have it.

Unfortunately no, the protocol is different. You will likely have to build your own converter, as I'm not aware of any converter that outputs XT scancodes.

Re: Idea = "3D-Printed PCB" For Hotswappable Handwired Keyboard (Could Use Help, Too)
Agree with kmnov. Designing a PCB and then solder on the hot-swap sockets will be the cleaner and more precise solution in the long run, and you won't have to hand wire anything, so less chance of the soldering joints coming loose over time.

Re: How to Restore Bottom Plate IBM Model F?
After rust is removed there will likely be pits left on the plate, and exposed metal will not remain rust free for long. Some type of coating is usually needed for durability.
You can try to find a place to redo the Chromate conversion coating on the pate for you, but it probably won't be cheap.

I personally recommend wirebrush if you have large areas of rust, before soaking in evaporust.

I asked JLCPCB to build me some FEXT PCB (101 key) with 0.6mm thickness a while back, and they rejected my order saying that the possibility of warping is too high. I imagine that a 122 key version is even more problematic.
