Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
mode1ace please send me another email as I don't have your user name in the order database. Some of my email replies (and shipping confirmation emails!) are ending up in junk folders. I've sent another, I put my DT username in the email, iirc when I bought it I put my geekhack username "mode" which...

Is there a backlog for getting support on a delivered keyboard? I emailed a week ago but have not received a reply, I just need single replacement key as it arrived damaged.

I have a lot of excellent mostly alps keyboards but this is above and beyond all the rest. I'm not sure I'll ever have a nicer keyboard.

Yes, it's done by moving the rj9 port from the original pcb to this, then soldering a snipped micro usb cable from the pro micro to the pcb.
You can crimp an rj9 port onto most usb cables.

I literally cringed when I saw you bring out that metal strainer. Please use plastic. Plastic strainers and colanders are really cheap. Why? I've used a metal strainer for caps and switchparts for years, never had an issue with scratching. Metal isn't inherently scratchy unless you force an edge on...

Depends how you feel about ping, lubing springs does reduce ping. I like a bit of ping, so it's not a good idea for me, but I understand why people do it.hellothere wrote: ↑22 Oct 2021, 19:34I've been meaning to ask, but keep forgetting to ask, if lubricating springs for any kind of switch you can open is a good idea.

Not really after an argument over such a petty issue, if you want to be anxious about labelling enforcement that's up to you, don't import one.
I still think you radically overestimate the degree to which customs agents give a crap about the small stuff.

I don't understand losing any sleep over it, as a a buyer it's not your risk. I don't understand losing any sleep over it, as a a buyer it's not your risk. I highly doubt NCR gives a crap about small runs of keyboard replicas commissioned and sold from china. It'd be quite futile to try and enforce their trademark, just search taobao for some popular trademarks and you'll fin...

I’d agree that wax gets you to 9/10 not 10/10. Just thats good enough for me. I want a method to get back to 9/10 that I can repeat every few years.

Re: Alps Lubricant FOUND!
So I'm wondering, surely it's not necessary for the water to be boiling, right? It's about delivering some heat, enough to clean the dirt off and melt the wax. So for the ABS housings, anything under 100C should be ok? (iirc that's when it starts warping?) So maybe a sous vide heater, set to like 7...

i’ve got 300 of the finest rekt taobao blues coming my way, so I’m going to see how this method fares at scale.
it’s a shame I have no NOS blues, but if they come out better than my NOS white then that’s a win
