Re: Dick Harris question/answer thread
Hello, Dick! I hope you are well. Would you happen to know more about the origins of the AT&T buckling springs that hold certain similarities to the Model M design? They have been observed to have some striking resemblances to your design but are thought to be an AT&T product. http://clickykeyboard....

Re: Seeking Soarer - evidence thread
This thread is unbelievable. I wouldn't want randos trying to find out whether or not someone in my family is dead. That is incredibly disrespectful. It shouldn't be any different for soarer's family. Leave him alone, leave his software alone, look towards the future: bright prospects ahead for conv...

Nippon Electric (NEC) Extended PC-8801
Hello there! I recently got myself a fun piece from Japan, a Nippon Electric (NEC) PC-8801, but not the kind you're used to. I don't know of any official name of this keyboard right now, so I am dubbing it the Extended PC-8801. https://i.imgur.com/QLrUjde.jpg Some notable differences between this ve...

Re: [FS/IC] Pre-made converters, 20 USD + shipping
This is interesting; all of my main computers are PS/2 capable but I do have a few that aren't and I don't know if my next computer will be as nice. Would like to see a finished product!

Honestly, we've reached an age where a basic yet decent computer in a similar form factor to the Commodore 64 is once again viable.

Re: [WTB] IBM 5576-002, Northgate OmniKey
I kinda messed up the last reply (forgot to quote, and looks like editing didn't work, oops). But I am looking mainly for a 102 or Ultra, mainly because I want to keep a standard nav cluster. I will consider any model though!

Bumping this because I also now want a Northgate OmniKey... I got my NEC PC-8801 keycaps in the mail and I want to pair them with something special.

Re: Post your keyboards that went to hell (and hopefully back)
I'd post my old Matias, which last I used it, typed like "ttthhhhiiissssss". But that never came back, it got chucked when every single key had chatter, and the companies response via email was basically "mechanical keyboards aren't for reliability" which I still have in my inbox because of the abs...

Re: Shit, I fell for it
I have bought from andj00 once before, and that was my first time ever performing a transaction using a forum classifieds post. It was for a replacement DIN cable. Even though I was new to the community, even I could recognize that his asking price of $20 shipped was far too high, as I was hoping fo...

Proxying out of Japan - Seamail vs. Others
So I found something on Yahoo! Auctions that I would like to get. See my post in the keyboard identification thread to learn more. The problem here is that due to coronavirus, Japan Post has stopped all higher-priority shipments to the US and are only offering seamail as an alternative. Courier serv...

Anyone know what this funky thing is? It looks like its PS/2 compatible but there's nothing besides that. The label is useless besides bearing the numbers 18555. https://auctions.c.yimg.jp/images.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/image/dr000/auc0108/users/5e6721116dd09c20438c64fb0b097fcc333134b0/i-img640x480-159...
