Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
Thanks, those are good leads. I'm not convinced this is worth picking up. Seller wants 50 euros and won't ship it, and it's not worth the drive I think.

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
Anybody recognise this keyboard, or know what switches it has? I can't find anything about the brand or the keyboard online.

I was afraid so. That hunch, plus it being AZERTY -- I'll skip it. Thanks.

Re: "I found some other keyboard" said the seller, before making my day
Downside: finding my holy grail so soon into the hobby makes me wonder... what next? There’s can always be a “what’s next” keyboard depending on how far down the rabbit hole you go. My recommendation is to enjoy what you have and keep treasure hunting  Absolutely enjoying the keyboard. Happy ...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
Anybody know more about this board? Seller says it's an ANK 510 AP. I can't find it in the wiki, and am wondering if it has interesting switches.

Re: "I found some other keyboard" said the seller, before making my day
Thanks everyone! Glad to join the club.
I've been collecting computers for ages, and keyboards since a year or so, so I know these kind of things don't happen too often. Downside: finding my holy grail so soon into the hobby makes me wonder... what next?

"I found some other keyboard" said the seller, before making my day
Through a local marketplace I bought a beat-up Apple Extended Keyboard II. It was cheap, seller was nice, and one day I'd clean it and fix it up. After receiving the keyboard I sent a quick thank-you message, to which the seller replied "I found some more keyboard from the stone-age. Want them?" and...

Re: Classic Style FSSK Model F vs. Unicomp Mini M
Checking Ebay right now, I see Model M SSKs ranging from $400 to $4,500. Why this huge difference? Are there differences in those versions, or is it a matter of asking outrageous prices and seeing if someone is crazy/drunk enough to buy it? What would a realistic price for an original IBM Model M SS...

Oof, sounds hard to work with. Thanks for the info and movie! It's a novelty I don't think I will use for more than 5 minutes, so I'll leave it with the seller

Re: How does this Key Tronic mouse work?
It's not mine, a keyboard seller mentioned he has these and sent me the pics. I'm not interested in mice, but woud pick it up if it had any historical value. But I mostly wonder how this mouse works!

Laser VTCL F810 repair and wiring up extra key
Hi folks, I recently acquired a Laser VTCL F810 with Alps SKCM Blue switches: https://deskthority.net/wiki/VTCL_F810 Upon pulling the caps off, the switch for the letter F broke. Something of the plastic gave in and broke off, and it looks unrepairable. I'm considering swapping the switch with one o...

Ah, thank you. The NEC keyboard sounds interesting, I think I'll pick it up. The Cherry isn't interesting then.
I appreciate the ID, thanks all!

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
Another two I can't 100% sure what they are. The latter is obviously a Cherry RS 3000 (a.k.a. Cherry G83-3000 apparently?) but I would like to know if it has interesting switches or how to tell the difference in switch/rubber dome from these pictures. I saw somebody comment about the homing bars so ...

Yeah, I realised the same after posting. Oh well. I asked someone who's into DEC stuff if he wants them, otherwise I'm going to leave 'em with the seller.

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
That's a shame. In the meantime, seller also sent a picture of another one like the DEC, new in a box that says "Olivetti". Maybe they made DEC keyboards?
Anyway, looks like I'll pass on these. Thanks for the help, Wolfi77W!

Re: Classic Style FSSK Model F vs. Unicomp Mini M
Thanks NathanA for the extensive answer. I didn't realise the Classic Style didn't ship yet, but indeed for my question the Ultra Compact serves the same purpose. They both are similar enough to sk the question, why prefer one over the other? Having used only a Model M, and never tried a Model F, I ...

Classic Style FSSK Model F vs. Unicomp Mini M
I real like the form factor of these keyboards. They seem to be the best TKL options if you want buckling springs. I was wondering how they compare, as they seem like each other's main competitors. I couldn't find a comparison anywhere. The Classic Style FSSK Model F : image_2023-09-01_093807591.png...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
After having been bit by the vintage keyboard bug, another one came in the mail today! I picked this one up because it looked like an IBM Model F AT. I never heard of the brand, though. The switch says "ATT" or "ATTE", I couldn't find anything about it. It's linear, not clicky. Anyone know more abou...

Re: Nokia Data 1051-1007 KBU
Yeah, they're linear, not tactile. But these don't feel rough at all. I mean, not the satisfying clickyness of a proper switch but they type quite smoothly.

This keyboard is for sale. I ship worldwide from the Netherlands, in case you're interested. I'm aiming for anything between €25 and €2,000,000 (hey, one can hope, right?)

Seems to have come from a government institution in the Netherlands or Belgium. The keyboard is nice to the touch, but it aint clicky. Anybody kn...
