{FS} (Chicony) PC CONCEPTS KB-7001 ergonomic keyboard with Alps SKCM White switches

Ergo Alps keyboard for sale, KB-7001 from Chicony branded as PC CONCEPTS. The keyboard is cleaned thoroughly by me, although there is some scuff that I can't remove. The switches are Alps SKCM white switches and the keycaps are double shot ABS. The layout is based on Asian-101 and has a pair of spli...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

This is a keyboard with Alps SKCM White switches that I recently acquired. https://i.imgur.com/KO8ZpLH.jpg it has an Alps bigfoot style case, with plastic back. The layout is a focus layout. The alpha-numeric area white keys are double-shot ABS, while the grey keys are pad printed and have grey/red/...

[WTT] [H] I-Rocks switches [W] something else

I have a keyboard with I-Rocks switches in it, which I would like to trade for something similarly valued (approx. USD50, it retails for 90+ dollar which really don't think it's worth). I-Rocks switches are new Alps clone switches made by I-Rocks in collaboration with alps.tw. It has simplified-Alps...

Re: Great/Interesting Finds

RE the 5100, you might want to ask the seller to pop off a key. You want dome with slider. 1. That is a bit too much. You might be able to find NOS (new old stock) cheaper on ebay. 2. Make sure it doesn't have the AT 6-pin DIN (yes, 6-pin, not 5 pin). 3. The ones with the 5-Pin DIN are supposed to ...

Re: Great/Interesting Finds

I found a BTC-5100 on local shopping website for roughly 40USD shipped. I wonder if this is a good price, for it's a rubber dome, but it is BTC ;) .

IBM Model M SSK can't register combination keys

I found a weird behavior of my IBM Model M SKK, if I press certain key combination at the same time, the key's wouldn't register. I don't think this is to do with 2KRO, since the combination I'm having issues with are like "Left-Control" + "F". When I press these two keys together, only the first ke...

Converting AT keyboard to Bluetooth.

Since my laptop has a very limited amount of USB ports, I decided to convert my AT keyboards to Bluetooth. The keyboard I decide to convert is a BTC-5339-R0. I connect the AT CLK and DATA pins to a ESP32, which is a micro-controller with built-in Bluetooth and Wifi support. However, the ESP32 runs a...

Re: Great/Interesting Finds

I found a Funkentstort(?) keyboard on local shopping website in Taiwan. https://i.imgur.com/YU2ZIFl.png No idea what this keyboard is, the seller said he/she doesn't have a keycap puller to let me see the switches. https://i.imgur.com/5N63eDS.png This is the label. I did manage to find the FCC ID, i...

Re: Best Dome with Slider Boards?

You can look into foam and foil for rubber dome with N-key rollover, if you don't mind the soft bottom out feel. The "R" version use rubber domes instead of coil springs for return force element.

Re: Acer KB-101A circuitry questions

Thanks a lot for the pinouts!

The Data General 6312 indeed looks quite alike this one! I'm afraid I don't have the time to do it too soon, so I'll look for options when I have the time.

Acer KB-101A circuitry questions

I've bought an Acer KB-101A from a local recycle centre for 800NTD (approx. 27USD), but it is battered to hell. The case of the keyboard is in pieces, and the AT (or PS2?) connector was cut off. https://i.imgur.com/osa581x.jpg I'm planning to fully renovate this keyboard when I have the time to do i...

Re: Great/Interesting Finds

Just found a Chicony KB-5191 with Aristotle Cherry clone switches on local shopping website for 1100NTD (approximately 40USD). While I think it is an interesting find, I wonder if it is good one? I didn't found much information (video) of this switch, I wonder how does it sound and feel? https://img...

Re: BTC 5339 circuit question

In short, rather awkward. Mine is the "R" version, the return force element is a rubber dome, I know some variants use springs instead. The top part of the key press (before triggering the keystroke) feels pretty much like rubber dome because it is a rubber dome. The lower part of the key press, on ...

I think that's quite likely, maybe the multiplexer got built in the controller later.

Re: BTC 5339 circuit question

There a total of eight latches in the two ICs, that wouldn't make a lot of sense as there are only three LEDs to switch.
I thought the multiplexer is built in the controller IC, at least there weren't any ICs other than the cotroller on my other keyboards.

BTC 5339 circuit question

https://i.imgur.com/KLutvR5.jpg I just bought a BTC 5339R (old new stock) and found out one of the keys aren't responding. So I took it apart and stuck a new piece of foil (cut out from a crisps' bag) on that key, and that was fixed. I've looked at the circuit board in the process of fixing it, and...
