Re: F104+SSK+122+62+77+50+Ergo orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
The front page of the website ( https://www.modelfkeyboards.com ) says "2/29/24 please have your orders in by then!" Does this date apply to orders for the F122? Next month it will just say "3/31/24 please have your orders in by then!" if we assume it does the same thing, that it has done the past ...

Re: Future of DT
The recent several days downtime was long enough to finally get me on "DT" Discord. It's… different. We complained about DT's hosting a lot and discussed archival, but keyboards not so much. I’m just more at home on a forum with persistent state than live text. My hope is that someone that gives a ...

Re: Vintage Keyboards Sound Tests | Vintage Keyboards Videos Database
The tactility in any of the model F keyboards I own is pretty mild if you compare it to something like the Zeal Clickies. There are a lot of modern MX-style switches that are very tactile, way beyond what I could reasonably use for extended periods. Some older domes can also tend to be pretty tactil...

MicroSwitch SD? https://www.ebay.com/itm/364575575810 IMG_9391.jpeg Looks like it might be some Clare Pendar switch. You can see that it is some kind of cross-mount from this picture (though the mount has been broken off at the exposed stem) https://i.imgur.com/fKt6atp.png Keycaps on the upper one ...

Re: What is the Lightest, Highest Actuating, Clicky Switch?
Keycaps mounted directly on the levers of microswitches is what you are looking for. In terms of smoothness, being ultralight, high actuation, and actuation tied with sound nothing beats the switches in my Microwriter . The tactility is very subtle though. Which microswitches exactly? Good question ...

Re: is buckling leaf spring a thing?
Yep! What you're describing is essentially a plate spring. Iirc there is just one where it is vertical, Alps SKFF . A teardown can be seen here. It's a bit different as it is using a lever rather than pushing directly on the plate spring. Plate springs are much more common horizontally, with Futaba ...

Yes, the winners just went out today for the 3 custom projects. Apologies for the long delay in wrapping up these auctions. As noted at the start of the auction earlier this year, for the ones with 50 boards, pricing would be set around the (less than 50th) highest bid, with the remaining boards to...

Awesome keyboard. That the third row is shifted an entirely unit to the left is mind boggling.
It's a standard contact based switch, and works the same way as any other contact based switch, like cherry MX.
Are you looking to repair/bodge the PCB, make a new PCB or handwire it?

Re: Does anyone still make keyboards with build quality comparable to a Model F or even an M?
It's just that a lot of modern keyboards are being built as cheap as possible. Flimsy body, keycaps that will show signs of wear quickly, light, and somewhat prone to breaking. Lately there has been a lot of modern quality keyboards popping up. Then there is of course the custom scene, but it's ofte...

Bold move to mention a specific trademark when describing the lubrication - I assumed companies did not make direct comparisons with named competing products. I was wrong? Does this mean 1 ms, or do this mean "probably 1 ms, but if you set set the debounce protection to less than 5 ms in your firmw...

Hi maybe something like deconstructed switch, with the keycap attached to the barrel and the flipper/spring next to it, to symbolize the deconstruction needed to achieve reproduction.

I have everything designed in Fusion 360, from the keycap profile, the font, the case to the manufacturing models (and CAM) and the model becomes so big that the software is very unresponsive. Shame, You can’t do it in Emacs, yet. :D Well.. There is something like CadQuery and OpenSCAD . While I do...

Cons: I would add to this list that it has a 7u spacebar, which complicates replacing the keycaps. In my case, I wanted to install MT3 keycaps. Good luck finding a MT3 or SA 7u space bar. I am already thinking about 3d-printing one... Almost all modern keycap sets has a 7u spacebar. There are a few...

You‘ve got ISO Return and the other different keys? Not buying, already have M2. Just haven’t seen ISO version. Curious to see the (top side ;) of the) caps. Danish ISO looks like this! You mentioned you could either make it ansi or iso. Does that mean that you potentially have 2 springs/flippers y...

That makes a lot of sense, I agree with you. The only problem is the keycaps won't fit any switch I can think of. I thought maybe they'd fit the Alps mount, but no... Little known fact: They fit (some versions) of "Proto-Topre". Not ordinary Topre though. I like your idea though, I hope you find a ...
