Got the mouse today. First impressions are good , its decent build quality and feels nice in the hand. At 4000dps its way too sensitive for me, 1600 is the sweet spot for me. <snip> Anyone want to buy a performance MX? It sounds like you need to reduce your mouse speed or acceleration settings. Per...

Getting consensus on the legends might be the difficult step. SA and others seem able to churn out custom keycaps.Muirium wrote: ↑<snip> With a keyboard as small as the OneHand, there's no way to have meaningful legends on it unless you printed them yourself. <snip>

Yeah, well, they often just switch the LEDs with a FET that can take the current. PWM and bigger resistors have the same effect - reducing average current, and reducing brightness. PWM might not be the best choice if peak current is still over the 500mA USB limit! <snip> Do you want to be able to d...

Since the original IBM keycaps are dye sub'd, you could buff them to a high shine using a cloth buffing wheel. You'll need to research what buffing compound is appropriate for that type of plastic.

To reduce the sound, look beyond just the switches. The body of a guitar makes the strings much more efficient at producing sound. Similarly, the keyboard PCB, switch-mounting plate, and case affect the pitch and amount of noise the keyboard radiates. For example, you might experiment with packing t...

Phew! That surface mount stuff is something I need to practice before I'm the least bit confident. It's a lot easier with a stereo microscope and a really good soldering iron. Also very fine solder or solder paste, solder wick, and good tweezers. Stereo microscopes are abundant on ebay -- a model w...

I believe this is what you're looking for: http://www.ebay.com/itm/151071023024 That fellow has been offering these for a while, so he must have a number of them. Note the modifier row -- 1x modifiers and 6x space bar. These may not fit your layout. Also note that these are MY switches, so the locat...

Kinda' sounds like a ground fault; the electrical ground in the keyboard circuitry is not solidly connected to the electrical ground in the computer. This allows the logic signals to float around as the ground bounces in response to data signals. Alternatively, the termination on the data lines migh...

The membrane switch is inexpensive and easy to assemble for large volume production -- but setup and tooling are expensive. Have you thought about just using discrete switches on a flexible (thin) circuit board? The switches could be a thin strip of beryllium-copper -- perhaps harvested from a scrap...
