Re: Saving an IBM M15 - need restoration advice
That is amazing - and very brave - work. Thank you for sharing. How is the new typing experience now it is ISO? There must be very few ISO M15s in the world.

+1 for a classic case F107/4704-400. Ideally with an ISO option and cases in beige and red.

Re: Help adding solenoid command to Model F62 Kishsaver
Do not lose hope: I have an F62 fitted with a working solenoid and configured using Vial. (1) The Vial action you need to bind a key to is "Haptic Toggle". I use Layer+T. I'd be a bit surprised if using a base key instead of a layer made a difference. (2) When I fiddled with the throw time options i...

Re: IBM SSK club!
Thanks to @TomTrev my SSK is now ISO. Of course, this required a screw mod. The next step is to change some of the keys to match UK layout.

Referring back to the F77 powder coating, can anyone comment on whether it would be a good idea to apply a coat of clear varnish to the front bar of my F77 case to avoid similar wear?

Re: Eclipse F62 - technique for replacing spring
I recently re-attached a spring to an F77 flipper while it was still in the barrel. I wasn't able to get it on using a pair of angled tweezers, but when I switched to a different pair of tweezers for which the two sides only meet at the tip (the sort used for plucking eyebrows), the spring went stra...

Strange terminal keyboard
What do people make of this? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126222586126?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Zjyn6J_STgu&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=qW0T37-dSem&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY At first glance it looks like a beam spring. But it doesn't match up with any IBM models and in the second pho...

Top tip: Model F Labs solenoid fix - shake method
Posting this in the hope that someone can benefit from my experience. I was playing with key mappings in Vial for my Model F Labs F62. I defined a pair of keys to adjust the haptic feedback dwell time. When I tried them out my solenoid stopped working. I reset the board, re-flashed the firmware (all...

Re: IBM SSK club!
I am somewhat late to the party/club but here goes. I recently acquired an SSK off eBay: https://i.postimg.cc/sD1pv0JD/1.jpg The previous owner has lined the interior with Kilmat 50 mil, which gives the spacebar a satisfying thud sound: https://i.postimg.cc/FHL3xdqM/2.jpg The interior was nice and c...

Thank you very much Ellipse! I have a spare xwhatsit on order with my FSSK, so all being well I'll be able to try this approach later this year.
