Picked up a Dell AT101W today

http://goput.it/str/thumb/l_yws_jpg.jpg I work at a thrift shop and I get to see all of the cool stuff that gets donated to us before it goes out on the sales floor. This was one of those finds. After paying $1 for it, it does work (I'm typing on it right now) but it suffers the same problem that m...

@neko2k/Kurk — would Sandy be permitted to use your photos on his NMB pages? This is his new chronological switch page, which is why I was specifically interested in confirming that the earliest boards didn't have the LED-integrated switches: http://sandy55.fc2web.com/keyboard/nmb_hitek_sw.html Sur...

My good camera has stopped working so here's the best I can do with my phone. You can use it on the wiki if you want.

http://goput.it/rrk.jpg I also noticed the sides on this OfficeMax keyboard are much slimmer than they are on real IBM or Unicomp Model Ms (highlighted in red so you know which bit I'm talking about) EDIT: Looking carefully, there seems to be more room above the logo placeholder rectangle compared ...

Weird Unicomp Model M?

http://goput.it/fyl.jpg I went to OfficeMax today and took this picture of their checkout terminal keyboard. The case looks identical to a Unicomp Model M and the key switch type is rubber dome. But as you can see, the layout is strange - it has Windows keys, a large L-shaped Enter key and the smal...

Got a "new" keyboard in the mail today.

https://goput.it//str/thumb/m_530_jpg.jpg Yes, it's one of those things. I normally have a real Model M on my desk, but I got this today so I figured I'd try it out. As you can probably tell, I've taped correct key markings over most of the phone keys and rearranged the numpad so it makes sense on ...

Ooh, if you've got any Model F 122-keys in there that you want to get rid of, I've been looking for one.

Are these clicky, tactile or linear? Also, if you feel up to it, what colour is under the spacebar? So far, pairings include black/cyan (clicky) and grey/neon yellow (tactile). Apologies for the bump. Now. Under the spacebar, the key switch is white like what is pictured above, only it also has a s...

Interesting Model M

This just got linked in one of the IRC channels I frequent. Not sure if it's been posted here before.

So. What in the world is this thing? It looks interesting, whatever kind of Model M it is.

I thought I mentioned that... This is a mouse. A very strange mouse, but a mouse nonetheless.

Anyone ever seen one of these things before? I found only one other reference to it online, and that was a serial version which required a separate AC adapter to operate; this one works off a sole PS/2 port.

That's a surprise, it uses springs. It's not IBM buckling springs though, and the spring is easily removed from the keyboard.

Picked up an XT keyboard the other day

http://goput.it/str/thumb/m_6eu_jpg.jpg Picked this up at a thrift store the other day for the large sum of 97 cents. It seems to be a generic OEM keyboard with the name "Tandon" stuck on the case. On the PCB, it says "HI-TEK Series 725". This certainly isn't a buckling spring keyboard, but it's no...

O hai

I heard this was a cool place to talk about keyboards, and I love my IBM Model M keyboard.

Two of you already know who I am. The rest of you, hi!
