Thank you litster for the design, I can't wait to give it a try!

By the way, do we have an ETA on shipping?

@judascleric: You just made me start using sticky keys, and so far I love it. Very easy to get used to, it simply allows you to be a little lazy and spares you those awful finger contortions. I hope you release that firmware with the features you describe!

Thanks for the kinesis feedback. It looks like I'll be going for a 78-key board (splitting "space" and "backspace").

AloisiusFauxly you're welcome to make us all very jealous by posting more pics.

There's also an UI for the 80-key version: https://www.massdrop.com/ext/ergodox/?keys=80

Sordna, how comfortable is a ctrl-delete or a home-end simultaneous press?

For reference:

Trying to design my layout, I'm not sure how to exploit the thumb cluster. Any kinesis advantage users to help me? How accessible are the outermost 3 keys? Is it easy to press multiple keys with the thumb?

I see why I missed it then: the Ghostery extension blocks the chat module.

I was hesitant but now I actually like the rawness of the design. It could eventually be smoothed out with flat screws and sanding the sides.

Edit: Here is my (horrible) photoshop mockup of the ...

I'm in EU and would participate in a nested GB (for one kit) if it reduces cost. However, I expect minimal savings unless we can avoid customs.

In this regard, I've had luck with packages not getting checked when delivered to France via USPS. FedEX and UPS always get the 19% IME.

Unless someone in ...

I'm just waiting till they post all the options I want before I officially register to buy.

In an email, they told me that you can cancel or update orders at any time.

Could always have an EU person be the recipient of multiple Massdrop kits as long as they would combine shipping. A GB within a ...

Their build instructions are not regwalled: https://www.massdrop.com/dox-ergo.php for those who want to take a look.

I'd much rather see the group buy happen here, in the spirit of a community project and for the added flexibility. Since I am located in Europe, it may even end up being cheaper.

If ...

The only thing I'm annoyed about is the lack of brown switches and extra pcb's. But that can always be bought from the other group buy, if it happens.

Heh, I'm in the exact same position.

Polling for switches options would have been nice and is already possible with the way their website works ...

it just doesn't complete the whole attempt I have of the “nearly perfect” keyboard

I'm interested to hear how you think it could be improved. I think it may be a bit bulky and wireless would be fantastic. Otherwise it closely matches my ideal keyboard (until we get chorded wearable keyers, that ...

At the risk of passing for a Massdrop sales rep, I'm registering to weigh in on the current discussion.

I'll start by introducing myself, as has been suggested. Hello everyone. I came through GH, which I found via key64.org which I googled after seeing a comment on a youtube video of the ...
