Got a great deal on a Citizen Independent 1481010 . Don't see myself wearing it much but there's something about it that ticks for me.

In case people begin to forget: Soarer's converter isn't hardware -- it's a piece of software (for AVR microcontrollers). You can download it for free from this forum. https://deskthority.net/workshop-f7/xt-at-ps2-terminal-to-usb-converter-with-nkro-t2510.html You can buy very nice hardware that has...

Yes, white Alps are kinda nice switches, but the blue SMK switches that Monterey used in a lot of these boards are indeed an absolute favourite of mine.

Why on earth is it called "MX"? I guess this is like Mac OS X, where it's stuck at X forever as the version number has itself become a name. I guess "MX" now means "a keyboard switch" instead of denoting a series. I vote for MZ personally. While this is true, I always thought that the X in MX stood...

You're right. But just the thought of the endless hours of joy you can give to someone who doesn't know it yet by showing it to them makes it worth the ridiculous odds...Findecanor wrote: ↑xckd does not have to be mentioned. Who here does not read xckd regularly?

Yes, this is the first approach I am thinking about taking. I was wondering if I should get the Teensy++ 2.0 or the Adafruit ATMega32U4 breakout board instead? Both seem more than up to the task. If you're going for a converter, you can also use the "Micro Pro" which is dirt cheap, or the Teensy 2....

Also, there is an open source converter: you can configure Hasu's TMK controller to convert AT to USB. However, you can also configure it to work as a controller and replace the Model M's original controller. What you need is basically an ATMega32U4 breakout board and some membrane connectors. I use...

@WilliamG: I paid for my Round 5 order on November 18, 2013 and got my magnificent keycaps on August 8, 2015. Many people paid much earlier in Round 5 and waited longer than 2 years. You could have known that if you had read up on 7bit's GBs before committing. In other words: it will be fine. Eventu...

Congrats! A very satisfying keyboard if you have the desk space.
I'm using the upper function keys as media keys on mine. You can get keycaps for that from Unicomp.

Thanks gateron and jkaos92 for answering. I would probably not have voted for them if I had known about them employing shady business practices. For the keycaps, I still think that what they show on their website is beautiful and original. I don't know much about the process of the "real artists", m...

Without quoting everything What you mean exactly, what should i explain, why i nominated and voted KF or why JK winning is a joke? Umm just to let it be clear, you guys voted for a shady company that was nominated as a JOKE! This entire thing is akin to a Budweiser product winning "Best Craft Beer"...
