Re-yellowing confiermed (again). This CSK-1101P keyboard http://deskthority.net/photos-f62/costar-csk-1101p-compact-layout-omron-switches-t5759.html which I retrobrighted about a year ago is more or less back to its original yellowed condition. Durability of painted cases

IMG_9276_m.jpg This is the bottom side of my Cherry 1800. You can see the plastic is slightly yellowed, everywhere except where the upper layer is constantly worn away through contact with the table (the line where the rubber feet used to be, before they fell off). And my table isn't covered with s...

Unlike Ebay, you have to pay a monthly fee to use Yahu-Oku (auctions.yahoo.co.jp) as a buyer. For that, you need a credit card issued by a bank in Japan, because when you try to add a credit card to your account, your street address in Japanese is a required field and non-Japanese credit cards don't...

No information besides the model number. On a second look, I find it a little suspicious, as Chicony keyboards typically are designated KB-xxxx. So I am going to rephrase it as this: the keyboad is definitely model number OK-100M, and claimed to have been made by Chicony.

Ah yes. Those eye-scorching blue LEDs are abominable. Since I buy most of my equipment second-hand and out of warranty, I swap them immediately for a more appropriate color like red or orange. Frankly, what was wrong with those tried-and-true colors? I mean, blue LEDs had novelty value at one time, ...

If everything happens in the microscopic surface layer, it does not go along with the idea that there are deep stores of "yellow pigment" which diffuses back to the surface even in total darkness. The precursor chemicals may well do so, but for the actual yellowing to occur would still require all t...

The original damage from light causes degraded or free bromides throughout the case from the fire retardants. Retr0Bright only takes these away from the surface layer. However these bromides can migrate fairly freely through the polymer. They don't need light to do this. Migration is probably accel...
