Maybe the german compositum "Schlepptop" will fit more as description ;-) Converting to VGA shouldnt be a problem, I have an old converter (for watching tv on an old computer monitor). I will document the whole process of converting the PG 750 to a RasPi-Schlepptop. May take some time... Thanks for ...

Thanks for that information. The PG 750 seems to be a nice housing for a RasPi ;-) I found one (without HD) on ebay and bought it now. Enough space for a "Pi-Laptop" with active USB-Hub and everything needed inside the case. I hope, the monitor supports composite. A Pi-Laptop with mechanical keybord...

Yesterday I got a Siemens mechanical Keyborad on a flea marked for only 3€: siemens-tastatur.jpg It has the same switches as shown before, tactile version, PCB mounted. Heavy keybord. It seems to be for a "SX64"-style PC, as there are some connectors to mechanicaly fix it on a computer housing - doe...

As my main keyboard is an terminal with RJ45, I connected a female RJ45 to the teensy. For useing PS2 or DIN I simply cut an old cable with DIN-female / ps2-female connector and crimped an RJ45 connector on the other end. I think it as the most handy solution (especialy as I have a very small case f...

Many cheep optical mouse seem to have a sensor with fixed focus lens. If you change the focus to a longer distance by removing the lens or using an extra lens, you should be able to allign the sensor tangential insted of vertical to the ball. In the place the sensor normaly would be, you place a 45 ...

2x 96 Tipro w/ Trackpoint. Thats quite a cool idea for a split keyboard. But it seem hard to get this 96 tipros (or 64 tipro) for a good price. 128 tipros are cheep to buy (I got a lot of 10 for 69€ on ebay an hour ago), but a split keybord with 128 keys for each hand is a little big (even the 2*96...

Only ´`^ are supported by German OS-layout, so everything else requires a macro, simmulating keypresses for an unicodecharacter. As I said - not the most urgent problem to me, as it would be only needed for full neo2 layout with company-PCs without administration rights. A verry special case. If I u...

To make it in Excel seems to be a good idea, because I have used VBA in some projects before. So maybe I can (partly) generate the macros this way. I think for understanding the logic, I simply make the map in Excel, using 8 colums and 4 rows per key (the 4 colums make it easy to place the Keys like...

Many thanks for the informations. I will make a rework in two weeks as I have not many time till then. It is a very interesting project, but complicated, too. As the PC is set to german keyboard layout, it is not easy to make the remapping. The keyboard uses scancodes named by us-layout, the converte...

Yes, Neo uses Deadkeys, more intensive than a normal german Layout (wich has ´` ^), on the main page of http://neo-layout.org you can see all the modifiers. Neo Keycap Layout takes a circle with the modifier on it. A lot of deadkeys. I think it would be very complicated to handle them without suppor...

Keymap remapping of course is the simplest solution, as there are many normaly unused keys on a standard layout, depending on your habbits. I for example never use ScrUp and down (maybe with numpad but not the extra keys) but of course I wouldnt do the modification anyway as I never use the Windows ...

Oh crap, that's frustrating :( Full acknowledge. But to be realistic, I mostly have to write normal text in office, so a complete NEO2-Layout is not necassary. For example, diacryptic chars exept accut (which is in my middle name "André") are not used (ÄÖÜäöüß are directly supported). The main nead...

To send Alt+numpad codes reliably, I think maybe a test is needed for num-lock state. Testing it, as it seems the Numlockstate is irrelevant. But many characters are not available this way, as the "alt"+"+"+<hexcode> do not work if the menu of the running program uses "alt"+character form menu acce...

Sorry to say, but none of the suggestions will work. The Cherry G80-1501 HAD is a keybord with Class2 Cardreader, which switches to a secure mode for PIN. Everything else is a normal standard, so modding has no sense if you loose the cardreaderfunction. So changing the controler is not a solution, a...

Thanks for this great project. I think, I need more than one, considering the usefullness of such a converter. 1.) My first intended use: I got a "IBM Tastatur P/N 1394312 für Terminal 3477/3487" for 29€, which is cheap for a buckling spring with german layout. 2.) My second intendend use: Conversio...
