Re: You can now order one of the new Raspberry PI based Mini-M Controllers from Unicomp
The exposed matrix (traditional IBM style ribbon cables?) makes it as easy to swap in another controller as on Model M. Someone just has to make a Bluetooth model for you to slide on in, and a battery for it to run from and recharge when connected by USB. My main daily keyboards these days are both...

This is awesome! Do you think it would be relatively easy to make this keyboard bluetooth compatible in this case?

[FS] Filco Convertible 2 ANSI 87 Keys MX Blue
Hey, I bought this keyboard few months ago from keyboardco.com for my wife's iPad. It was only used for maybe couple hours in total as she prefers the magic keyboard for some reason. The condition is perfect, pretty much like new. Comes with everything that came in a box. I'm happy to let it go for ...

Hehe, I don't have that much confidence in myself. I'd try on some messed up piece first before attempting mod on a decent board.

I know it can be modded, but I think it's too valuable piece to cut the barrel plate. For me at least.

[FS] - IBM Model F AT with USB adapter
I decided to thin up my collection a bit. Starting with this beast. I restored it few years ago, but never actually used it as it's just not my style. I can't get used to the layout and heavy space bar. Otherwise it feels amazing, smooth, springy, just like perfect condition Model F should. I have a...

I figured out I have a bit too many keyboards and I don't use most of them so I decided to sell at least some of them for now. I might add more boards to this list at later point. All keyboards come in original boxes with all original accessories, unless otherwise stated and of course are fully work...

I have the same board - 1391401 made in UK, and as a matter of fact, also from 1988. It's very nice keyboard indeed. Surprisingly hasn't lost any of the rivets yet, even though I got it second hand, and judging by condition of case it had very hard life. Not that it's much better at my home where it...

Being extremely simple and minimalistic construction G80s are ones of the easiest keyboards to fix. Just clean it up, dust it off, and if necessary open some switches (no desoldering required) that cause problems and dust off their insides. It's basically just a simple matrix and dumb PS2 (or option...

Yep, I have 2 of those keyboards, one in early A500 (like yours, white linear Space Invaders), and one dedicated for A2000 (yellow linear Space Invaders), which my RealForce reminds me a lot (looks similar, feels a bit similar, being slightly lower than normal travel due to silencing, and extremely ...

Why stay away from variables? That way he can try all the weights available in Topre keyboards :) Also typing on that is quite unique. You don't really feel the variable weighting unless you really look for it. Otherwise it's just easy on fingers, making the keyboard feel a bit lighter overall. I th...

Be warned. My experience is a bit hardcore as I'm coding for ~10 hours a day, but 55G Topre made permanent damage in my right hand ring and little fingers after using it for nearly a year. I can feel them hurt when I use heavier switches now, and honestly, 55G Topre feels the worst - hurts more than...

I actually quite like buckling rubber version of this switch. Linears (same switch but with spring instead of rubber) are really awful though.
But yeah my CDTV keyboard was brand new when I got it. There is a video of me typing on it few years ago:

Plenty. The controller is about the same size as the regular or Space Saver Model M so there is plenty of room inside. As a matter of fact I'm sometimes thinking if they did it on purpose in the past with leaving such empty hollow spaces inside keyboards to make them sound better or something. Take ...

Like anything else. Out of Alps based keyboards I only tried V60 with Matias Quiet switches and they felt more solid, with more pronounced tactility without any reverbs in sound, making it sound a bit harsher than normally. Eventually I went back to plastic case as I actually prefer the sound and fe...
