Re: Great/Interesting Finds

NOS Marquardt Series 6184 switches (Standard momentary). I ordered a full keyboards worth for myself and they are indeed never soldered. Also surprisingly smooth although you can feel and hear the contact leaf scratch against the stem. Despite using the same cross mount they don't fit regular Cherry...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

[...] I had a similar problem with the keys above the arrow keys, albeit with VIA, not QMK. They neither showed up in VIA's matrix tester, nor in the layout tester. In my case I just flashed the wrong VIA .hex-file, namely the one with the nav cluster instead of the numpad. Maybe you flashed an HHK...

Re: Any capacitive keyboards with ISO (nor) layout out there?

You could go the complicated route by buying an HHKB JP (JIS layout) and replacing the controller with one from hasu to reprogram it to be closer to ISO. You'd also need to replace the sliders with MX sliders (e.g. from deskeys ) and put on aftermarket keycaps. Also you'd just have a 60% keyboard wi...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

My F77 arrived yesterday! Ellipse Model F.jpg (Note that the yellowed space bar is not from Ellipse. I'm currently using one from an old Model M.) Setup was smooth, apart from me having to hammer the top plate back in place, since it shifted during shipping. I put VIA on it and programming it that w...

Re: Tai-Hao ALPS Cubic Profile ISO DE IC/GB

Very interested! Not a big fan of Taihao's Cubic profile, but it's fine. I'd change a few things regarding keycap choice, if possible: Add a 1u Numpad 0, for 1800/96% layouts Change the R4 |\ keycap to the German #', for "German HHKB" layouts Change the R2 1u |\ keycap to a 1,5u R3 #', for "ANSI DE"...

Re: Operation typewriter to keyboard (alps skff)

If the PCB is desoldered already why not go the extra step and create a custom layout with the keys you have and get a plate laser cut for that?
As it looks you could get pretty close to a somewhat standard 60% layout.

Nice board, btw! I've been on the hunt for one of these for a while now.

Sorry for reviving this old thread, but since more than one person asked now how I converted my ISO IBM 5140 to USB I just wanted to document my wiring as well as the pinout and matrix of the ISO version. I've converted the keyboard somewhere in 2017, so I'm not entirely sure if I wrote down everyth...

Thanks for the tip! I found those as well and asked them if the keycaps match the original color, as I a have Realforce 88u from which I'd like to use the German keycaps on the HHKB JP. Let's see what the answer. The original keycaps are available on Yahoo Shopping , but I was hoping not having to h...

[WTT] [EU-DE] UK IBM P70 keycaps for German ones

Hey, I recently acquired an IBM P70 keyboard (still in it's replacement part box, so no computer was harmed in the process!). Unfortunately it came with ISO UK keycaps. The condition of the keycaps is quite good, as slight bit of shine on some more often used keycaps like shift and enter and the spa...

Re: Fact checking: Are Alps SKCC and SKCM/SKCL springs interchangeable?

SPRiT sells some Alps springs: https://www.spritdesigns.com/product-page/alps
I use them in Alps Browns and so far I have no complaints. Not sure if they fit Alps SKCC though, but from my experience they look really similar.

This is probably not the right place to discuss this further, but we're on Offtopic-thority anyway! The wire is definitely different, but unfortunately I can't accurately measure the wire gauge with ...

Re: Post your keyboard/keycaps!

On the Silent Blacks I don't notice any creaking until I go very close to the keyboard. Overall I'm really happy with the Silent Blacks, although the springs could be a tiny bit lighter for my taste. On another custom board with Silent Reds it is much more noticeable and they are indeed quite incons...

Re: Post your keyboard/keycaps!

I recently built this custom G80-11800 with a YDKB Grape PCB, custom steel plate, Cherry MX Silent Blacks and EnjoyPBT 9009 keycaps. I also lined the case with EPDM foam to make it even more quiet and to have it feel more solid. It's still slightly pingy, though. Custom G80-11800.png I have 2 sets o...

Re: Doubt about Cherry stabilizer size

This might depend on the place, way and material you get your plate cut, but I ordered a lasercut steel plate based on a plate generated by http://builder.swillkb.com/ a few weeks ago and the GMK stabs I used fit quite snug. They need a little bit of force to mount and won't come out on accident, so...

Re: Decision Data Computing Corp. Model C1410A#ABA

Since a DIN5-to-PS/2 adapter is only a electrical pass through and doesn't contain any logic it would only change the pins you need to use from the respective connector. Maybe your keyboard doesn't speak a protocol Soarers Converter understands?
