You actually lost me there, I haven't tested any mice with 3307 (nor 3310 yet), but if it doesn't has any problem tracking on surfaces such as light wood, no acceleration and no jittering, by all means, go ahead :D

What the CM Storm Xornet/Spawn needs is some better side buttons. Make them a lil bit larger, make them stick out a bit more. Stick to the TTC switches, no one complains about those, the problem is just the plastic structure.

And if possible, could you show us its PCB, so that we know whether or not it was a new project or they used the same PCB as the backlit version.

The graphis is correct, but except for one hole in the PCB, not much is compatible.

It is possible to have a PCB for both, but not if there are different choices for switch positions.

As your graphic indicates the mount plate can't be the same. In my Cherry/Alps-PCB-design, the Alps comes a bit more up to re-use the right contact hole, BTW.
