Thanks for the tip. I got a tiny neodymium magnet I just have to point in the general direction of the reed switch ;) Only needed to do it once so far, the firmware has a hotkey to start the bootloader.

Bummer. I just swapped out the browns w/ a white/green mix in one of my QFR's (see here), it's not very hard if you have some soldering experience and the equipment. White and Green switches have the same weight (same springs), the difference is in the click (whites - soft, greens - like blues.)

Hm, I would be interested in the 60% Companion (already got a hacked Scorpius-32), kit is no problem and I already have code for it if the CPU is AVR based. :) An option to have it all 1x keys would be nice. Personally I prefer the case flush w/ the plate (or where the plate would be if it doesn't ...

Soldering fun
Got my new soldering station today, a BK3000LF (added three tips for SMD work: 0.2mm conical, 1mm chisel, 2mm flow type -- should cover most scenarios.) Tested it by de-soldering the switches from a CM Storm Quickfire Rapid (MX Brown, eew) and soldering new ones in. Took about 2hrs overall ...
