I am becoming quite attached to the idea of a split HHKB:

Anyone have any suggestions for the bottom row? There are an additional two 1U keys which could be added, but I like the HHKB style ...

cool! but did not understand, did you flash it because that tablet somehow is not interfering too much to let the rom bootloader not go towards SPI or is it because you soldered a 10k resistor somewhere now?

no resistor was used. that tablet I have somehow doesn't interferes with the rom ...

There is no one set containing two FN x1,25 caps!
In this particular case one x1,25FN comes from TextMods and second x1,25FN — from TextProMods.

So IMHO image has mistake in color marks placement.

I don't think palm support is good in this case.

I use no resistors.
From very beginning I try to use resistors. But in the end all works without any resistors.

MiniLa pin numbering I use is
1 3 5 ... 27
2 4 6 ... 28

as marked on PCB.

Additional information about LEDs.

PIN 11 (marked early as LED) have to be connected to VCC :)

PIN 12 and PIN 13 connect to teensy ports.
For examle to D4 and to D7 pins on teensy board.

Than to light up LEDs you can use commands
DDRD |= (1<<4);
PORTD &= ~(1<<4);
DDRD |= (1<<7);
PORTD &= ~(1<<7 ...

Some more matrix fixes.
1.
WIN has R1 not R0 row.
2.
RShift has R2 not R5 row.

This fixes invalidates colums combinations!
