do you live in like spain or something? 1391401 is the part number for the us-ANSI one 1391406 is for UK-ISO, 1391404 appears to be spain or something due to the bit-paired number row and stuff. It was made in the UK like most of the european ones. The cable end is a normal SDL cable which is what ...

I got this for 2 euros today
Hello everyone, it's been quite a long time since I last came to this forum, hope you're all well. Today I was going around an open air market in my town and I found this. It was a bit dirty, so I cleaned it as best as I could, even if I couldn't open it because I need some sort of hexagon screwdriv...

I guess I will do something like that as well in the end, because I can't really find caps of the right measure, they are too big (the most little I found is M4). I found this which has some smaller measures, but it doesn't have hexagonal shape. Nice mirrored plate btw

where to find M2 nut cover in rubber or plastic
Hello, as said in the title I am looking for a nut "cap" like this one http://www.panozzosrl.com/images/catalogo/images/img-tpd.jpg but I can't find it with size M2. I need it as a simple keyboard stand. Here is what I mean: the nut will fix the screw and when covered it will look better plus it wil...

Today I had some free time, so I started sketching the case, pretty much like the one Matteo posted keyboardcase.png What about the thickness of the layers? Here is how I made them (metal plate in "sandwitch" is 1,5mm thick): keyboardcasedims.png Will there be enough place for wiring, controller and...

Ok, I was adding holes and borders to the plate. It is bigger than yours because from what I saw yours doesn't have holes being "sandwitched" between wooden layers, which will be screwed then (tell me if I am wrong), anyway I put them just in case. plate_template_mm.png Here is the .dwg for further ...

currently the plate for the wooden case is 312x103, but it's subject to change based on the prototypes. The screw holes are 2M, but again, it may still change. I don't see why you shouldn't be allowed to post dwg :) Thanks :D I don't know, sometimes forums have fancy rules, so I wanted to be sure. ...

What's the difference between plain square keyholes and the other ones? Blue ones compared to white ones in this picture diff.png Square ones allow to completely remove the switch, while the other ones only the top? I also have some few other questions about the plate layout: how big are the screw h...

I don't know if it can be useful, but I made a plate layout for a possible ISO version of 3rd model. I have never used a CAD software before, so I hope I didn't make any big mistake: plate_template_mm.png I read that the stabilizers for space bar are 50mm from the center, is this good? Also I am not...

Hello :) I am new around here. I am planning to build my first keyboard and after some thinking I ended up realizing that the design you are prototyping (3rd version) matches pretty much the one I had in mind, except for the ISO configuration instead of ANSI: http://deskthority.net/resources/image/1...

I guess I will have to put the ~ issue away for the moment... I think that this could be a good layout for both gaming and coding, I put pagUp and pagDown instead of volume which is more useful for a programmer and replaced the ~ key with del. This is pretty compact and I like it, basically needing ...

I modified a little the proposed design you posted to match an hypotetic ISO configuration ISOmod3.png I have another (probably) silly question now: the ~ key doesn't exist on italian keyboard layout (and I often struggle while coding), would it work with this configuration by properly configuring T...

Welcome to custom keyboard design! ... Thank you :D and thank you for the detailed answer. I started reading the topic for the Group Build yesterday and that layout is actually very nice, plus it is quite standard for the "gaming section", which is a problem not having to deal with. When I have som...
