Unidentified keyboard (BBC?)
Hi everyone, I've had some into my possession a keyboard, and I've tried googling and got nowhere. I remembered this forum helped me identify an IBM model F a couple of years ago and thought you might be able to help again! I know basically nothing about this keyboard! Thanks for any help! image.jpe...

I should say this isn't a new build, the keyboard has been working for 8 months before this happened. The other day my S key started not registering properly but I think that was a physical glitch. I'm considering trying to put a dinky fan inside but don't know what I should be cooling, the teensy o...

Soarers Converter Crashing? (IBM Model F 122 key)
Hi, I've recently been having a bit of a problem with my Model F. In hot weather, it sometimes jams, constantly outputting whatever keys were pressed at that moment, and does it until i pull out and replug the USB. It happens a lot more frequently if the keyboard is totally flat, and occasionally wh...

I was wondering if it needed maintenance because while on the M the key can only travel directly downwards, on the F there seems to be a fair amount more "play" in the keys and they move slightly as i type, and dont look all square while on the M they stay aligned quite well. This sideways play on t...

Hi, it's me again! I'm afraid i have another question. I've been using the keyboard for a couple of weeks now, and it works well for gaming. I'm considering getting some other caps for it for the pg up and down keys etc so they say what they actually do on the key! however I've got a question about ...

Hi guys, sorry this is a bit of an odd question, and i know people have said use the extra numpad key as a tab button, but i would really like the numberpad to be like a standard keyboard as i enter a lot of numbers and calculations for my work. Does anyone know where I can get a number pad plus key...

ill probably just leave them disconnected internally then. It looks to me like the foam mat has had its day, but its good enough for now, so next step is to see if the electronics work by making the soarers converter. I now have to puzzle out the instructions for that! More photos below. IMG_0801.JP...

Well I can only wait and hope that the keyboard is in good condition under the grime! I wasn't expecting a Model F and I think its very unlikely I'll be able to find keycaps for it, they're so hard to find. There's literally no IBM model Fs on UK ebay at the moment. By the way i would like to thank ...

Ah, a teensy ++ is a waste then? I remember reading somewhere you might want to use the ++ if you're doing a lot of remapping. @Muirium Don't worry I'm not planning on putting any new holes in the case of an F! Rightly or wrongly I would have been happy to add a small extra hole in an M to allow the...

Bother, I wish I'd seen that sooner, when I thought I was getting a Model M I got a teensy 2.0 ++ (it seemed to be recommended for those wanting more macros and key remapping), and that adapter works out at about £5 with all the work already done. Being in the UK I don't really stray onto US ebay mu...

So just to be clear, a soarers converter will work with this and allow remapping and macros? I was originally going to try putting a raspberry Pi in it as a sort of backup "portable" machine for when I have to work from funny places, and a switch to go from normal keyboard to being a keyboard for th...

I figured the controllers weren't compatible, I thought they were the same model when I bought them! Xwhatsits controller is better than Soarers is it? or are they much of a muchness? I know you can program soarers with macros and media keys which will be very useful in assigning the spare keys, and...

Wow a model F! I am very happy!!! It was on an ebay auction, bought it and another similar one with beige bottom for £60 for the two including postage (I got two so I could have a full set of key caps and spread my bets on dead controllers). The beige one has no stickers so I thought it would be har...

Identifying an IBM keyboard
Hi, I've been using the database here and browsing the forums for a while, and I thought this could be the place to help me identify an IBM keyboard I bought the other day. I've never posted before, so I apologise if I've put this in the wrong place or there's a dedicated thread for identifying keyb...
