Hey guys, anyone know where to buy Tai Hao ALPS? I really can't get past the looks of V60 default caps. MK.com is out of stock (and frankly shipping to EU is enormous).

Yeah I was really hesitant that I'd end up ordering a new switch and replacing them which would be quite a hassle. Comparing to plate mounted cherry mx switches the option to open the switches, without desoldering, comes kinda handy. I also solved the rattle of stabilized keys by lubing the wires. N...

Welcome aboard :) Opening an Alps switch is actually quite simple. You should take a look at Chyros' video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Mhmb2kBuwQ . For key chatter, you should probably strip the contact leaf from the contact pad and try cleaning the small plastic hammer and leaf beneath it....

I just bought my first alps keyboard, Matias Click V60. I'm really getting used to the alps switches, it's a completely new experience from cherry. Is there a way to lube alps type stabilizers? The stabilizers do make a bih of a pingy noise when typing. Also, I'm expereincing key chatter on "R" key....

I own a German ISO Model M from 1992 (If I recall correctly) which I bolt modded myself following the Phosphor Glow's tutorial on YouTube. Since I've started using 60% layout my interest in Model M slowly shifted away to smaller sized keyboards. Now after a good year of Poker use I do miss the buck...

According to hKing and Wodan's replies, I'm gonna go ahead and claim my switches to be indeed vintage blacks. They have all the attributes of vintage mx blacks + the timeframe of keyboard production correlates.

The best way to know is to look at the manufacturing date of the keyboard. Flip it and check the date code . Damn, unfortunately I don't have the case with me any more to check for codes, but as far as I can recall, when I examined for the keyboard code first time, I think it was produced somewhere...

Are those vintage cherry mx blacks?

I recently harvested switches from an old cherry keyboard Cherry g80-1000 (already sold the keycaps :) ) and I wonder if these switches are vintage mx blacks? The picture I took is the switch right next to a new mx blue. The font and the cherry logo is bigger on the black switch which is a good indi...

Hopefully this set is going to be purchasable from SP as a regular set and although I love it and I'd be very happy to make a purchase I have other priorities that require my wallet spendings. :)

The main reason I switched to a 60% keyboard is the huge space gain and no more right shoulder pain. My right arm reached far to the side for the mouse thus causing me cramps in my shoulder after prolonged PC use. Since I've made the switch I can only say that I never ever want to have keyboard larg...

Hi there, I currently own a cherry mx clear keyboard but I got the oportunity to buy cherry mx tactile grey switches to solder on my kb. I find that mx clears are a bit light to my taste (I bottom out from time to time) so I thought to try heavier springs. The Question is, has anyone owned and typed...

Good news,
I just successfully lubed the stabilizers and the "rattling" is reduced by a large amount. It still can be heard, but I can live with it. I really don't wanna risk over-lubrication and have a sticky spacebar. I can always add silicone grease later. thanks chzel for the tip...

Thanks for the info... It's pretty late here where I am, so I must have misread the mount type. Thank for the tip, I will try to lube as soon as I get my hands on some good grease (WD 40 might do the thing). Hopefully it'll work without desoldering... never did it before :)

Thank chzel, you saved me from ordering wrong stabilizers, and from a great amount of disappointment if they'd arrived. :) Now, I've read this topic here (http://deskthority.net/keyboards-f2/how-to-lube-a-wire-stabilizer-located-under-the-plate-t12131.html) is having same problems with noisy space b...

Where to find Pok3r stabilizers?

Hi, the stabilizers on my Pok3r make too much rattle noise and squeek so I decided to replace them with new ones. Where.do I order stabilizer clips and stems from for my Pok3r? I think Pok3r uses cherry stabilizers. I also heard lubing might help but the stabilizers are plate mounted, so is there an...
