I'm sorry to hear that. Being a Ducky owner myself, that's not very encouraging news. I wonder if adding a short mini USB male-to-female adapter in between makes a difference for the hardcore switcher... I bought a small right-angle USB mini to USB female cable, with the intention of duct-taping it...

if you don't switch keyboards often using the same mini USB cable, it's not a problem at all. If your Ducky is plugged in a 100 percent of the time, you shouldn't have any trouble with the connector. Actually, this keyboard has not been disconnected very often, certainly less than 5-6 times. Also, ...

Happy ending! In August I got the go-ahead to mail the board to Canada for repair, with no guarantee of them being able to fix it. Due to some problems I only got around to mailing it at the end of November! Today the refurbished board is sitting on my desk and I'm typing this on the board. They fix...

This feedback is probably too late, but you should consider it anyway. It looks like the current layout will be very hard to type common programming symbols on, such as the [] {} combinations, and -= are not next to each other. Also, using the wide keys for the pinkies is bad because either the fing...

I've tried soldering the internals of a USB connector, damn near impossible. Just saying. If it doesn't work out for you, I would love to have a go at fixing it dotancohen :D If I deem the keyboard beyond reasonable repair, then I'll send it over to let you have your try at it! Judging by your hand...

14 months: Broken Ducky
Just 14 months ago I purchased a Ducky 1008 keyboard and loved every minute of typing on it. Today it stopped working, it seems that the contacts for the removable USB cable have gone bad. I tried with a second cable, same problem. I could probably tape down the cable to hold it at the correct angle...

The Keyboard Oracle has decided: The Noppoo Choc Mini and the Keycool 84 . I believe the Choc Mini is plate mount. I have one. -Tad Yes, this is why I did not go with the Choc. I also don't like how the Function keys are lined up with the Number keys. Ideally, all the keys would be lined up (grid) ...

Wisest oracle, I humbly approach thee. I would like a compact layout with real arrow keys, real F-keys, and real Home/End/PgUp/PgDn buttons with Cherry Reds PCB mounted so that I might swap their springs. The Race looks perfect, but it is backlit and I would have to desolder a LED from each keyswitc...

Enlightened, enchanted, wise Oracle... Solve this dilemma and ease my pain. My love of the split MS Ergo 4000 keeps my hards apart... even when I'm washing them. I need a lightweight switch (<45g) and a keyboard that does not require usage of the right thumb (mine doesn't work). Likewise, I need the...

Hi, first post here but I see some familiar names from GH. I'm typing on a Ducky 1008 and really enjoying it. The thing cost half as much as a comparable name-brand board and works fine for me. It's got media keys and the name brand boards don't. I see that the built quality is second class, and the...
