I actually bought these a few months ago and they are indeed alps branded. However, when I bought them the listing was: "Supply of imported original ALPS WKUES1B010 mechanical keyboard button switch" NOW the listing is: "Supply of imported original similar ALPS WKUES1B010 mechanical keyboard button...

Any info on this? (not my find) The wiki pages for SKCC Cream and Alps integrated dome both mention it with references. The SKCC version was mentioned here in 2014 (per the reference on the SKCC Cream page): https://deskthority.net/keyboards-f2/keyboard-mystery-alps-12kc018a-for-trs-80-model-iii-t9...

does he have any other types of NOS Alps? 8-) Ugh. Was anyone able to get these? https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=558118276592 Typical China — the moron seller created a listing with a bunch of random photos and sells whatever he feels like from it. After sending back a link to the specific phot...

Aren't foam and foil? Look at the spring, Also I remember other Amkey boards with weird foam and foil switches If anything, they remind me of [wiki]Stackpole torsion spring[/wiki], but they won't be if they are Amkey branded. They do bear more than a passing resemblance to the switch in one of Amke...

The search box at the top right provides autocomplete on page titles, but it is case-sensitive from the second character onwards (i.e. you can type "chicony KB-5161" or "Chicony KB-5161" but not "chicony kb-5161"). I generally use that box, rather than run full searches. You can use quotes around se...

I recommend a Nan Tan FMA3300 or FMA3500. I saw one at a radio rally years ago, and pulled off a keycap to find the highly rare [wiki]Alps ultra low profile[/wiki] switches. I should have bought the machine, but I didn't want something that bulky, and I didn't write down the model of computer. I jus...

A terminal keyboard, apparently. I'm pretty sure I've seen that picture in this thread before but can't find it now. Any info? Thanks! Some kind of DEC LK-201 clone. Usually rubber domes or MX Blacks, though I've seen others like green Alps too. I saw a variant on Geekhack recently where that ribbe...

Do you have Tai Hao blue and green Alps-mount by the way? Also found those online. Yes. The type I need is white clicky, and I ordered the last ones from Mechanical Keyboards, but it got lost in the post. I can't reorder, as there is no more stock and they are no longer manufactured. Yes, it's clic...

The questionable caps had "BTC" inside, maybe this helps a bit? I am not sure I have ever seen branding on (well, inside) a keycap before! I was looking at the keycaps and noticing that the typeface is a lot like Key Tronics, which seemed an odd company to make a keyboard with Cherry switches. Howe...

Which reminds me, somewhere there were photos of a Cherry keyboard where they inherited the tooling from Honeywell (where the domes were on webbing). I also found this very suspect "Cherry" PDF that shows that webbing system as being Cherry NTK, and I can't recall if I ever saw that in a G83 keyboar...

It's clearly not worth me wasting any more time on this as no-one's paying attention. The entire of the text for AdNW is gone. Malt is gone. BEAKL is gone. A large part of the page has just been summarily obliterated with no explanation. I have no idea why anyone would want to destroy so much inform...

Latching keys are the ones that stay down when pressed. Since they were probably never used on any PC keyboard, I have no idea why the manufacturer would bother to state that. (Apple used latching alternate action switches for Alpha/Shift/Caps Lock for years, up until the AppleDesign Keyboard, which...

I realise that the presentation is not serious, but if those are not your actual worst top ten, then that was a pretty worthless video. However, the video still suffers from the same confusion of age and wear vs design. Besides, Cherry ML in some keyboards is really good. I have two, one really good...

My first encounter with Alps integrated dome (the small blue ones) led me to believe they were mechanical, as they were sharply tactile and had a metallic ping. I was quite surprised when I opened a switch. With any rubber-based keyboard (including MEI T-15) you have to consider the state of the rub...

You are going to "buy new springs" … for what, exactly? Blue Alps's feel comes from not one but three springs: a helical return spring, a leaf spring for the click and tactile feel, and a leaf spring that works the contacts. The contacts are also springy: you have a flat plastic prong that applies p...

This one is even worse: http://www.johnwolff.id.au/calculators/Tech/Logos240/Logos240.htm#Keyboard Cherry M7 (as it was later known) came out around 1970. I'm not clear what would have been around in the late 60s — I can only think of Micro Switch SW Series. What would have been more cost effective,...
