The idea this is a good way to measure activation forces, and then others need to prove it is not, is wrong to start with ... The premise of the ripometer is that it can be used by people who don't have a more accurate method - start stacking coins. It goes wrong right there. You got a better idea ...

A little searching for camera lubricants found Klüber Lubrication, dunno if they make the best lubes but they certainly do provide the most comprehensive engineering data on their website.

Just curious, but what tolerances are permitted in the switch specifications themselves? What if the design or manufacturing produces something like 45±5g? After a threshold higher precision does not yield higher accuracy. I suppose calculating an average from measures across a larger number of keys ...

I'm still waiting on the final verdict about those yellow things. Although 50 million cycles means more than 115 days of constant 24/7 60wpm typing on only one key before failure ... so this beast might be worth that surprisingly low price even if the keyswitches are barely half as good as promised ...

Thanx for the review/report on this stuff, rip. I assume you properly mixed it, used on "safe" materials/surfaces, and used appropriate solvents to cleanup. Still looks messy and destructive.
