The idea this is a good way to measure activation forces, and then others need to prove it is not, is wrong to start with ... The premise of the ripometer is that it can be used by people who don't have a more accurate method - start stacking coins. It goes wrong right there. You got a better idea ...

A little searching for camera lubricants found Klüber Lubrication, dunno if they make the best lubes but they certainly do provide the most comprehensive engineering data on their website.

Damned hard to find the MSDS for that ridiculously-named product. Kept bumping into offensive infomercial videos and labcoat-wearing actors pretending to be "scientists".

Agreed there are surely better and more accurate methods than a Rip-O-Meter metric - and don't get me wrong, rip can be annoying at times and it sorta rankles me to align myself with his cause.

But if you insist on going back to high school: Lacking other data, we can reasonably assume an error ...

Just curious, but what tolerances are permitted in the switch specifications themselves? What if the design or manufacturing produces something like 45±5g? After a threshold higher precision does not yield higher accuracy. I suppose calculating an average from measures across a larger number of keys ...

Which brand of yellow goop is that? There might be a solvent which doesn't damage the plastics, dyes, and surfacing on the keys. Although I'd personally just pull out a vinegar-soaked toothbrush and start scrubbing.

So this product is attempting to steel away some of the Steel 6G gamers?

I personally think it's fail. Camo paint aint gonna compare against gamer's WASD and macros and backlighting and bling, it's also the wrong "theme" for many games/mods. Maybe it'll go somewhere if this is only the first ...

Works fine for me. Mouse acceleration can be configured through software or disabled entirely, and I make good use of it in gaming. I'll have to check dimensions, I was under the impression that the Razers are physically larger.

I'm still waiting on the final verdict about those yellow things. I'm rather fond of my Gigabyte Ghost GM8000X, I like the styling and haven't found any others with better specs. To me the Razers generally seem clunky and hugely oversized, not easily gripped in a comfortable manner. It's all about preference.

I don't see what it offers that can't be done with any USB keyboard and a pair of velcro straps, wooden blocks, or paperback books - unless your mission is to scratch up the exterior laptop plastics. The totally incorrect key layout and obnoxious colour scheme would keep me away from this product.
