Do the LEDs switch back on if you unplug and replug the keyboard while the computer is running? If so, then the keyboard does not store the setting in non-volatile memory.)
Regardless of its LEDs state when the keyboard gets replugged the LEDs stay off.

This is going to sound ridiculous... but can you unplug your mouse and try the suspend / resume cycle again?

It doesn't sound ridicolous to me, thanks for trying :) I did it but the keyboard still behaves the same. The mouse is actually a wireless one (Logitech M525) so I unplugged its dongle ...

I updated the link but massdrop website has a weird design, I tried the link and sometimes it works sometimes not (tried while being logged off from them).. I've put the google redirect to the same address, which seems to work! :)

[VA87MR] LEDs switch back on after resuming from suspend under Linux

Hi,
I'm a newbie and I'm using a VA87MR from Varmilo (USB/illuminated). I use it under Linux (Fedora 25) and I found it surprising that all the time I resume my computer (keyboard it's attached to a laptop) the LEDs come back on if they were set off before closing the computer lid.
