Anyone else with a Kinesis Freestyle Pro?
So I got a Kinesis Freestyle Pro keyboard today (with browns, that's seeming the only option for them but that's fine as it is what I would have got anyway), so far it's not too bad. It has a bit too much ping for me already though. The palm wrests and the cheesy stick-on pads for them are a big dis...

Most of the current crop of 3d printers don't have the resolution to handle keycaps very well. I tried one with a current RepRap model and the results were less than spectacular. You can get down to 1mm for the fine details, but in the case of cherry mx stem mounts it's not enough to make it worthwh...

[Final vote] Best other (non-keyboard) HID 2011
Very happy with the magic trackpads. Have wanted them to do something like that forever and they finally did. I would prefer a USB one though instead of the current battery muncher ... but you can't have everything.

I thought about n'est ce pas too, my French is rusty.
Nothing from them yet as far as shipping. I even asked them straight out via email but didn't get a reply to that query.

I'm still liking my F21-7D but the more I type on it the more I realize that the switches are pretty wobbly ... and they are a little too light actuation wise for this type of mechanism IMHO. I don't forsee this board aging well ... just the limited amount of time I've spent on it and some of the sw...

Oh, I also did the O-ring mod to a couple of my main boards and it made a big difference for me ... I don't care as much about bottoming out now. THere's also varying degrees of bottoming out ... there's the "lightly hit the bottom" (which is what I do most times) and there's the "jackhammer this sw...

I'm off and on in the bottoming out department. When I spend a lot of time with one board I can do ok if I try to not bottom out (or at least not bottom out too badly), but I find when switching boards frequently it's more difficult to get the feel of each individual board -- or course most of my bo...

I think they had false expectations for the whole time. They did do a hell of a job getting press and making a splash, but they did it 18 months too soon ... unless they needed to do that to fund the venture (if there is indeed "truly" a venture going on). I'm not sure if they are just full of crap ...

They say immediate but then also say if you order ow you might get it for Xmas. Their idea of them meaning of immediate may be a lot different than ours it seems. For the first time I actually think they might ship these boards for real ... Let you know if one ever arrives

Got a new board with cherry clears today
After spending a bit more time with them I'm starting to really enjoy them. Thanks for the advice. They wouldn't be a choice for me for gaming but they are nice to type with if you're going for not bottoming out.

I have a couple of boards with browns and I do like them. I'll give the clears a good try then, thanks for the advice. Maybe just having a bad day with my hands.

And do I ever feel wimpy. You really have to stand on these suckers to get them to actuate. It makes my fingers feel like un-learning the whole "not bottom out" approach to things and just hammer away on the keys (which defeats the purpose in my eyes!). I was going to give this board a good run for ...

It's seriously messed up at the moment, can't even load pages, instead getting the generic VB warning message that headers were already sent ... then it sends my browser(s) into a headspin that require a force quit.
