Interesting, thanks for your work on this. Can you compare smoothness to MX Black (modern, vintage), Gateron Black, and/or Micro Switch? How are off-center key presses? Any chance for a heavier weight? Consistency of feel between switches? Cases look a little iffy, what are the feet like? I feel ...

KUL might do well to sell the board in several enthusiast kits:

1) Case only (including the excellent feet and pads TuxKey mentioned)
2) No caps, no switches
3) No caps

The stock caps should really never be offered at the normal price.

Thanks, snuci. I'm tempted to see how low the seller will go. Heavy linear is my preference, so maybe worth a shot if it's a deal.

First decide about full size or TKL. If you don't need full size, with a TKL you might appreciate being able to position your mouse closer to the keyboard (if you mouse right-handed) or more desk space.

salsaverde is correct, Plexiglas is just a brand name, it is acrylic (PMMA). I have a little non-keyboard experience working with acrylic laser cut through Ponoko.

The most important thing to keep in mind there, and perhaps elsewhere, is that the thickness of sheets is only approximate. The stated ...

For what it's worth, I regularly type a lot using (modern) MX Black (KUL ES-87, stock caps) and find it very comfortable. No doubt Gateron Black would be smoother, but I'm okay with this. More curious about MX Linear Grey. Heavy switches have always felt more comfortable to me over the long haul.

Haven't tried Matias, but I can confirm that Gateron Clears are very smooth, much smoother than new MX Blacks. Before getting any switch that light, though, you should try to test it. The low actuation force isn't for everyone.

So I guess this is not possible with a standard ANSI like the KUL.

I have a KUL ES-87 (MX Black) and would recommend it if you planned to replace keycaps and were okay with ANSI. As far as I know, they do not make an ISO version. The board is very sturdy, with a simple, clean design. My only complaint is that the legends on the stock keycaps were noticeable faded ...

Gateron Clears are noticeably lighter than MX Red, and smoother than both MX Red and (new) MX Black. The light weight might not be for everyone, though.
