I only ever tried to lube some Matias QC switches in the Alps universe, but personally I liked A LOT of Victorinox best. Like I drowned the slider in it. It doesn't work with original Alps very well though

That means, having full control over the manufacturing process, which was crucial to me.
Does that mean that you changed the manufacturer of the plate/case?
I never had a Whitefox, but I built one for a friend and QC was just abysmal and it didn't look any better on the pictures of other buyers ...

Sadly the white SMD-Version won't work for what I want to do I think. The bottom case needs to be translucent. It works best with the milky housings, but the clear housing from zealios looks okay too.

I actually like the idea. As a kid I would've loved a keyboard like this I think.
Asking for the point on an enthusiasts forum always seems weird to me. What's the point of anything we do here? Science isn't about why, it's about why not!

So I just got another Canon Typewriter, an AP 830.
It features undampened cream and green Alps. It also comes with a 6U spacebar, which is really nice I think.
I don't understand at all how the model numbers of Canon work. Did they just use whatever they had lying around?

Does anyone know what switches these are? Sadly the pictures aren't that good... I'm mainly interested in the keycaps in this board, so some infos on whether it's Cherry MX compatible would be enough for me.

Come to think of it, new MX-Whites sound pretty good. Nothing like Blue Alps, but they're much more pleasant than MX Blues. Imo. they're the best Cherry Switch @ stock.

Aristotles Stems are pretty nice, but nothing like blue Alps. Gateron clickies are even further off, the click is even higher pitched than that of MX Blues imo.
Your best bet would probably be those Alps-MX-mount adapters and some clicky Alps switch.

I had a Canon AP 360 with Alps tactile Creams and Green linear modifiers. A friend asked for pics of a AP350 and it had tall Alps.

Personally I think $20+ Rubberdomes are a waste. You could try getting a old BTC or something, those are supposed to feel really good and (at least used to) go for low prices.
If you actually want to spend your budget, I'd definitely go for a mech.

The way it looks on your renders, it looks like the acrylic plate is shorter than the frame? Then this might not even be an issue.
