is it just me or do the mods at ocn not even know their own rules? I much prefer this type of moderation. But then I guess they have too many kids over there, and kids need babysitters. I think OCN is like a stressed parent paying 5$ an hour to an irresponsible teenager to babysit their kid because they are too cheap to hire someone qualified.

Deskthority is better because it has more pictures of ducks.

Yeah, it seems to me that they have a complete and utter lack of situational awareness.Ascaii wrote:Discuss!

My favorite one was when I got a PM from one because I referred to the swear filter as the "Nazi filter". I have made note to refer to it as such more often after that point.

For some odd reason I got TWO 4 point infractions almost immediately for "trolling". At OCN they define "trolling" as disagreeing with the Moderators.
Since then not a peep. New moderators.

I never got an infraction. I once got a warning, of which I remember almost nothing (I think he misunderstood some irony), except the timing. I was just sitting down with my family and all that on Christmas day to enjoy dinner, when my phone showed this incoming email message from some 12 year old, telling me to behave. I considered it, and I had no retort to that. I mean, for example, I could have replied something like "you're an ass" to keep it simple. However, if one really wants to offend someone, the reply should be "you're the kind of sad, sad person who mails irrelevant forum warnings on Christmas day", which really defines a person. But since that actually happened it would not have added anything. You see my predicament?
Besides that I highly recommend how they have been moderating ripster. Maybe we should do a moderator exchange someday. We'll swap daedalus for a week for Tater Tot. I know it has been daedalus' lifelong dream, and Tater is ripster's favorite moderator.

I think you're the first to backtrack the wild duck's origin.

Here's a video of the last time ripster got into an argument on OCN. I think he got an infraction for that.

It's like that on their entire site, not just the keyboard forum. People on there never do their own research, they just repeat what they've seen others say. A good example of this is "Cherry MX blue switches are bad for gaming", or "USB is better than PS/2". You see shit like that throughout the site.

I'm typing this on my DealExtreme scissor attached through a green mouse dongle into my Asus Sandy Bridge P8P67 motherboard.
I'd be doing in on my Model M 1391401 Blue or Black label but the PS/2 connector doesn't work with them!

Deskthority.net should do a wiki on this. Feel free to copy mine. Actually I didn't start the Geekhack PS/2 USB wiki. I just "repurposed" it.

I think he is confusing deskthority with geekhack where they post naked curling pictures and that sort of thing. Disgusting, if you ask me!
Here they only post tasteful pictures of orange girls, celebrating the youth and artful beauty of the female form, combined which nature's best color.

I like Orange. So did IBM.
Ah, the young minds at OCN. They let others do it for them. In the old days minds were trained to be independent.

So i tried talking to the mod in a nice way and I have permission to repost it now...as long as I pay for becoming an official OCN vendor to sell my keycaps. At only 99$ a month thats a great deal. So I will be raising the price on my doubleshots from 25€ each set to 50€ each set to pay off their folding team with cookies and gpus. Come on OCN, why wont you let me do something good for your keyboard community? Oh well, I guess ill just be part of stealing more people for gh and dt.
