OK lets see, I'm a very modest man so a Just Systems RF 108UW-HiPro will do. I was gonna say Beamspring etc but I don't want to burden you too much old man.

I'm guessing they don't do bulk discounts.

So, you're actually into Topre? All I know about your tastes is you like it old, and somehow you managed to stay off 7bot's awareness all this time, so you mustn't be into building customs. Grumpy chocolate's going to need some pointers!

Well let's say I have come to appreciate Topre, not as much as you and many others though. The only Topre board I own at the moment is the FC660C, which was a lucky find. I may get another RF in the long run, I have owned two in the past. And no I do actually have a standing oder with 7bot. Not sure when I will be enjoying that space cadet TKL set though... :evilgeek:

I don't expect anyone to spend much money on my gift.

I've seen mentions of the Nissho KB106DE and am very intrigued by it. Maybe I'll talk to hasu or someone to get one, or try to get it proxied over. I don't really need one.

I'd love any 45g Topre board but these are pricey as well. I may do a dome swap between my HiPro and my 87U 55g as mentioned elsewhere. I really wonder what 55g HiPro will feel like.

Now that I think of it, I don't have a single keyboard that has modern Cherry MX Blue switches. I have some Kailh/Razer Greens and some vintage Blues that need a good cleaning. I also don't have any vintage MX Brown switches though I may change this soon.

Sometimes I feel like I have everything. What do you get for someone who thinks they have everything? Something local. Something hard to get in their locale. Whoever my recipient is may get cloudberry jam and/or pecans since those have been received well here before.

I also don't have any G80-3000 of any sort. I do have one G81-3000. I didn't realize it had a built in USB hub! What a neat feature.

So, to whomever my Secret Santa might be: know that I'll appreciate just about anything I receive. :-)

I for one would be delighted by a chocolate keyboard.

For about 5 minutes.

Just like Mitsumis…

I'd say just like Omnoms, but they're actually really good!

Hmm. I wonder how hard it would be to make a chocolate keyboard mold. There is always ANSI versus ISO to consider after all.

For chocolate i would want a big ass enter!

Good point. That's one place where full size beats compact. I could handle a slab the size of Kbdfr's workhorse!

Ahh yeh i think that would be a good idea too.

A chocolate keyboard with Omnomnom switches, noted. In tipro format for kbdfr or andrewjoy.

I guess it will be easy to find something for me. I left a lot of Information of what I am interested in. So did my victim. I am just not sure if he already has what I have here. He probably has, so I need a twist of some sort :D

It might remove an shred of mystery, but if anyone has questions for recipients with short post histories (like, say...me :) ), might I suggest a disposable email address? Actually, perhaps it could *add* to the mystery: carefully taunting them over the next month with false leads, steganographic images and ransom notes. Or maybe that's a serial killer. Works either way.

I figured questions to your recipient could be proxied by the organizer (e.g. 7bit).

Come on, guys, don't over-organize that
It's just supposed to be a nice treat at the end of the year, not the fulfilment of any concrete desires.

I'm sure he could create a bot for that :) - but FWIW the link I posted requires no registration and lets the mail redirect last as long as a month. Guess if you send something awesome enough, it will require no questions...

7bit invited this kind of behaviour by the way he organised this.

Next year, I suggest we let someone else play the organiser. Ideally, that someone could receive all the gifts and then send them out to the Santas. Someone well respected and based in Germany would be the best fit for this: they'd be trusted with a lot of stuff, and they have a lot of shipping to do! 7bit has a good track record at that, but man did he lose my confidence when it came to the draw…

Really, we shouldn't know who we are sending to. That's the key. But it's hard, when so many of our identities can be guessed from the shipping address. I knew who my giftee was on the first PM from the bot, before 7bit added the username spoiler.

I don't think centralized shipping and redistribution is the solution here. It adds unnecessary cost and time. Consider folks overseas.

I enjoy knowing who my recipient is, and as I said before, I'll read through their posts to think of something nice.

But, I'll try to avoid depending on 7bit for too much else. He's busy as I'm sure we all are too.

Yeah, it's just pie in the sky really. But all this talk of researching our giftees is making Kbdfr cross, and I like to be the one doing that…

I lurk too much and don't have many posts so I better give some clarification on what I'm interested in. The odd post on one of elecplus's threads saying I'd be interested in a beamspring isn't going to help my Santa out much. But before I do I'll go ahead and say I'm going to be happy with anything I get. I don't have high expectations and it doesn't have to be something I said I'm interested in. Here goes.

Anything old.
Anything spherical.
Anything Alps.
Anything hall effect.
Really any switch I've never tried before, and I've only tried most non-vintage Cherry, Topre and capacitive buckling springs.

The bot is very mean. I've been assigned someone who already has pretty much everything. How can I pick out a gift for a God?

posting some quick things here could work as well.

for me it's linear stuff and pbt, so a nixdorf keyboard with SAA keycaps should suffice. Might wanna throw in some SAR to please the cat as well (she likes red).

Looking through last year's thread, there were more keyboards than I remembered. Bugger. Uh, I mean, I better find something…
