Interesting..lol
Title of article:
Title of article:
Snippet from same article:Donald Trump 'yelled at Australian PM during "worst ever" phone call about refugee swap deal - then HUNG UP'
The saga continued when Turnbull then felt the need to respond further and he appeared live on several radio shows in Australia.
He insisted Trump had not hung up on him, and that the call ended "cordially".

It's mediocre entertainment 002, no more. The trumpet guy is soo diversely suited for media coverage.

He definitely is suited for media coverage. The irony of his hatred for most of the major news outlets is that it makes them a lot of money. Maybe they're actually all good mates behind closed doors? The whole public versus private position and all

That was a big factor of him winning the election if you ask me.002 wrote: ↑He definitely is suited for media coverage. The irony of his hatred for most of the major news outlets is that it makes them a lot of money.
Of course other more reputable sources also had this story:

Better...
It's curious to me that:
BTW, our laws against illegal immigrants and even those found to be refugees are pretty strict. If you're an illegal immigrant then you literally have no chance. If you tried to make it here on boat and you were found to be a refugee, then it's still tough luck -- you won't be coming to AU. They will just settle you somewhere else.
This is a pretty strongly worded message for people trying to get here by boat:
It's curious to me that:
...Yet no-one seems to give a flying fuck about that. It only matters when USA *also* gives an inkling that they don't want the refugees either that this becomes big news everywhere. Until today I hadn't even heard about our plans to offload the refugees."Australia has controversially refused to accept them and instead holds them on offshore detention centres on the Pacific nations of Nauru and Papua New Guinea."

Right, but "the brutal Aussie offshore immigration / prison camps" were in the media here...very briefly. Or just do it like Germany and have no immigration plan whatsoever...makes for brilliant chaos trust me.002 wrote: ↑Better...

Are you joking? Trump doesn’t hate the media, he adores the media. The whole “oh the unfair media is being mean to me” schtick is a constructed fantasy, with the goal of gaining more attention.002 wrote: ↑The irony of his hatred for most of the major news outlets [...]

When the coverage does not correspond with his ideas he does hate them, calling CNN "you are fake news" in his first press conference was pretty clear.

If that's true then I guess you probably think he's smarter than what I do lol. Personally I think he legitimately has a bit of a hate-on for them. I guess on one hand you can hate something, but still be happy about it at the same time. Kinda like if your wife told you that you have a bigger dick than your brother.jacobolus wrote: ↑Are you joking? Trump doesn’t hate the media, he adores the media. Nope. He's "smart" in his salesman kind of way, but that won't do for his new job. His first week on the job was so messed up that everyone is holding their breath now. For some people it's a dream in terms of material:002 wrote: ↑If that's true then I guess you probably think he's smarter than what I do lol.

Well considering CNN have no problem with blatantly lying about almost everything, he as a right to tell them where to go.seebart wrote: ↑When the coverage does not correspond with his ideas he does hate them, calling CNN "you are fake news" in his first press conference was pretty clear.
A better man would have been more sly and subtle about it.
But Trump is not subtle .

I'll be going to Mexico tomorrow. I'll keep an eye out for all those bad people our president has mentioned. But I have sneaking suspicion that it's mostly normal people doing normal things. Just a hunch.

BTW, I see everyone is silent on the UC Berkeley riots??

Berkeley and Oakland have a small cadre of hard-core rioters who love fucking shit up, and don’t have any particular grander political agenda. They’re damn annoying, and always counterproductive; the folks involved in non-violent protests and anyone politically serious in the region wishes they would just go away (Trump loves them of course). Doesn’t have much to do with Republicans though (the topic of this thread) or US politics in general. There are plenty of similar rabble in every country. These guys are pretty similar in tactics and intellectual maturity to some groups of Trump rally-goers during the campaign cheering about “lock her up”, shouting slurs at reporters, and beating up protestors.
The Berkeley Republicans are being idiots by inviting white supremacist conspiracy theorist Yiannopoulos to speak there, but I’m firmly in favor of private citizens’ rights to say or listen to stupid hateful bullshit if they want to, as long as I don’t have to listen. They only discredit themselves. It’s a shame when these vandals replace “college Republicans entertain racist troll” with “masked anarchist rioters do a bunch of property damage” as a media story.

I was curious about your assertion that Milo is a white supremacist...it's something he denies often but of course it's easy for someone to say they're not something when they are. Here is a thread where people are discussing why white supremacists *don't* like him: https://www.quora.com/Why-do-white-supr ... annopoulos
Was it something that he said or did recently -- genuinely curious and happy to accept that he is if there's some compelling quote from him that contradicts his denial of being one.

The thing that got him banned from Twitter was instigating his mob of troll followers to harass the female black Ghostbusters actress with racist hate messages en masse.
He repeatedly writes screeds full of racism and religious bigotry (leave aside misogyny and homophobia). He bends over backwards making up weird apologies/excuses for his followers’/friends’ use of racial caricatures, Nazi / Confederate iconography, and so on. He goes around wearing an Iron Cross necklace.
If you want to consider him just a “racist sexist asshole troll who spends an awful lot of time with real neo-Nazis and applauds their ‘youthful energy’, but might not agree with them on every point”, then fine, I accept the correction.

Oh come on , his twitter account is hilarious !
Also , why ban him , what rule did he break.
Oh sorry i forgot twitter supports the left , you can be banned for not being leftist now.
jacobolus wrote: ↑The thing that got him banned from Twitter was instigating his mob of troll followers to harass the female black Ghostbusters actress with racist hate messages en masse.
Right so saying your not funny and not a good actress is racist now ?
Also, if she had been white would the thing even have gone this far ? No it would not have , and if thats true his critics are the racist ones not him.
This is terrible , all that violence.
Its almost like somone predicted it .
Oh wait , they got it backwards.
Its also not a " small number of people" , did you see the size of that crowd ? With the " remove trump by any means necessary" if thats not a massive number of people inciting violence i dont know what is.

I'm not going to argue with you Andrew. I just had some wiki based fun with a certain someone, enough for today. In terms of national security I guess his tweets could be considered somewhat problematic but personally I don't care what he tweets. Entertaining? Yes, very much so. So is he banned now or what?

The reason why Trump is president is because the Democrats had a weak candidate, representing continuty of the Obama policy which many people did not like. I'm quite sure she got many votes just because people wanted to avoid Trump, but not because they wanted Clinton.
I'm not 100% sure, but I have the feeling at this pace he will make sure that he will lose support by his own party plus the economical impact of his policy will make sure that the big $$$s will put him under pressure. Either he will be kicked off the throne or starts to behave.
However, violent protests are always the wrong way and put only oil into Trumps fire. If you want to get rid of him or make him behave, you have to play the economical card.

andrewjoy: You have no idea what you’re talking about. these vandals in Berkeley are not Clinton supporters.
My brother was a Ph.D. student in UC Berkeley’s public policy school, and organized many lectures and other politics-related events in the area, and had to deal with their shit all the time.
They’re “anarchist” bozos, unaffiliated to any reputable party, organization, or political movement. They frequently show up at unrelated peaceful protests just to make trouble.
You can think of them as 4chan trolls brought to the physical world.

From the clips i have seen there are lots of students ( mostly gender studies and other pointless crap) who where protesting , not saying they where doing the violence or anything , but i doubt they will shed any tears. They are part of the "you free speech ends where my offence begins crowd" who have no problem with silencing anyone who they do not like. I however would support there right to say whatever they like , even though i think they are terrible ideas.
Think of it like your terrorist and your average Muslim, 99.9% of them would not commit any violence , but many will support the idea of it.

Think of it like Donald Trump and his advisors vs your average conservative white man. Many of them are creepy and support the idea of grabbing female strangers genitals and beating their wives, but 99% are too lazy/timid to actually do it.
See how stupid such an exaggerated guilt-by-association stereotype argument sounds?
This ——“Think of it like your terrorist and your average Muslim, 99.9% of them would not commit any violence , but many will support the idea of it.” —— is simple bigotry.

Trump is giving Wall Street their entire wishlist. http://www.newyorker.com/news/john-cass ... ment-sachs
So much for defending the working class, or draining the swamp, or whatever other malarkey.
Pure cynical greed, which will take billions of dollars out of regular people’s pockets and transfer them to the financial services industry, while risking blowing up the economy again.
John Cassidy calls this a “bait and switch”, but it was obvious to anyone with half a brain that Trump would pick the most corrupt corporate-friendly policies he could, if he could find some profit in it.
