Well done all, and also credits to sixty, because it's kind of a logical derivative of his logo if you try to make something smaller. Who has or wants to take the lead here? A manufacturer must be picked, final design in SVG must be made (see above for offer), group buy started, money collected, etc. Depending on prices and demand, I think we should keep it simple at first and only do the most popular design in light/dark and dark/light. Unless it turns out to be real easy to do some other designs in demand as well (like 3 + 12, slightly different white spacing but that should be made into one design).

I love the flipping desk picture...but I also want the space bar...meh!. Combine em?^^
As for the winning design...I like it as well. Are we going to try to have QWER keys make these? I would enjoy it as K series cap.

Using those series to make the keys would be awesome.
I think it's actually pretty boring to use the standard one colour key with different lettering colour.

Why not a whole duck set of keys? OK this might not be optimal, but the only duck font I found, kalrykh wrote:I vote for the webwit duck

Sooooooooooooooo Where do we go from here.
we have 2 1x1 keycaps which have won
How do we go about putting these into production and distribution
Secondly do we do another poll/creation for those designs which were not 1x1 keycaps?

* Email Melissa at SP and get quotes for the key sizes you're interested in.
* Make an SVG of the winning legend(s) for use in production
* Figure out all your costs (supplies, shipping from SP to you, legend fees, etc.)
* Decide on a price structure.
* Put up a thread and take orders. On geekhack we've started using Google forms instead of PMs for recording orders. It works out nicely.

Expecially since deskthority is EU based, so no custom come into play.

I'm actually tired of SP monopoly over keycaps. It's time for changing the key source

This pretty much. Quality of SP caps isn't really that great too. Let's give QWERKeys a chance. Also... B-Series!guilleguillaume wrote:I'm actually tired of SP monopoly over keycaps. It's time for changing the key source.

Okay so Ragnorock will do it via SP, right? If wen want quality caps from QWERKeys someone else has to organize it? Doesn't sound like the optimal solution to meRougeRambo wrote:Update - okay, i have been in contact with Ragnorock and he says he is happy to organize the group buy, could the winning designs (options 3 + 7) please post up an .SVG and post it in this thread as well as pm it to him.

Rather give QWERKeys a try. If Rag needs a guy in Europe I can volunteer.
I have no GB expierence, though.
