Confusing PM time stamps

Hi

I know we are scattered over different continents and time zones.

More confusingly, probably at least some of us have set our times to certain standard times, and some of us have not. For instance on geekhack I have chosen to use their standard time, which even until now I don't know what that is. I did not set any particular time for deskauthority.

Now I find this rather confusing when I am getting PMs. Sometimes the system is quiet. Sometimes it sends me a bunch of PMs. Sometimes the time stamps are in quick succession (within the same few minutes) which I know is impossible. Sometimes the PMs look jumbled when they show up on my computer - ie I'm pretty sure I read something just a few hours ago, and it shows up a second time as seemingly unread.

This seems to be more of a problem when forwarded to my computer. If logging onto DT the PMs are in order.

Does anyone have any idea how the PM, the forward PM-to-email, and PM time stamp system works?
