I purchased a used Maltron a few months ago off Ebay with a slightly irregular layout (parentheses on the 5 and 6 keys instead of 9 and zero, for example). During my communication, the Maltron representative also mentioned the possibility of the programmable keyboard.

My big question regard their potential programmable keyboard: how much are they going to sell the keyboard for? Their current line of keyboards already are prohibitively expensive, but are worth the cost for an RSI-sufferer. With the programmability option, that would demand an extra price premium over a standard model.

Regardless, I am anticipating the release of a programmable model. What will I do with a Kinesis Advantage, programmable Maltron, and Ergodox (hopefully)? What am I doing spend all this $$$ on keyboards? I can already see the day my family asks me to meet them in the living room. "Son, we need to have a keyboard intervention. You're destroying your life."

Yes, I saw this. I visit their website weekly waiting for the announcement that says they are selling the programmable keyboard beyond the one-off stage.

I started with a few keyboards like that. I think I'm already past the intervention stage, but I think I'm more afraid of my collection getting scrapped once I've passed on.

Put me in you will and I'll take care of them.

You'll be dead. You won't care about anything anymore. As long as they are by your side when you pass.

If you pass on, we'll all come to your funeral and mourn.

I asked to MaltronPCD about buying a Maltron keyboard with Spanish Maltron L89 (big letters) and Spanish Qwerty L89 (small letters), 6KRO and Cherry Brown switches and I have this reply from Martin:
Martin wrote: 1. 6KRO is supported. We were able to read 6 keys at a time. Beyond 6 it did not register.
2. We can supply with Cherry Brown switches.
3. We have not done a Spanish Maltron layout before so will need to do some analysis on what is required. Dual layout for Spanish Maltron and Qwerty is doable and estimate a cost of an extra £50.00.
4. The cost would be £425.00 with £30.00 delivery to Spain, price quoted is EX VAT.
I didn't ask about programmable keyboards because I'm not interested... I will ask about a discount for buying more than one and try to get somebody from Spain interested in doing it... (difficult, but I'd try).

I never tried neither cherry black, neither brown switches, but I think that brown ones would be better. About mechanical keyboards I just used for a short period a model M keyboard, many years ago.
