Plum Nano75 Electrastatic Capacitive Bluetooth RGB Keyboard

After I liked the Plum 75 Nano with 45g so much, I also got a Plum 84 with 35g. I like the layout a lot better with dedicated arrow keys. It's just more comfortable. The typing experience is very smooth. The keys are very soft and are a joy to type on. If you like the cloud of boobs feel of Cherry MX reds, you might also enjoy these. There is some tactility, but it's very light.

The downside of the Plum 84 was two things for working well with macOS: Fn+F12 to switch between NKRO and 6KRO, as NKRO leads to weird behaviour. Buy additional command and option keycaps and switch win/cmd and alt/opt in software instead of on the board. Changing keycaps will also be difficult because of the 5.5u space bar.

On my Plum84 fn+f12 takes you into a programmable layer, I have set mine up to work with mac better when in that layer. I am glad that the keycaps are PBT and are fairly low profile (but still contoured) as I don't really have any desire to swap them out, otherwise the 5.5 spacebar would be a huge downside for me.

I love Dolch keysets, though I feel they only look right with black/dark gray cases.

It's really interesting how differently people experience the same thing. The 35g dome sheet in my Noppoo EC108Pro had no discernable tactility whatsoever. It was, for all intents and purposes, a purely linear keyboard. As soon as I put a 45g dome sheet in there, I could begin to feel some tactility, but still not quite as much as a 45g RealForce or NovaTouch board.

Still, in the absence of a real 60% TMX board from Topre, these 45g Plum Nano 75s are a great deal!

You can always hunt for a genuine Topre membrane sheet ... after all, you have three bloody Plums, which means money is not a problem

Luckily, the 45g dome sheet in the Plum is perfectly fine for me. They are close enough to silenced Topre switches with regard to tactility that I see no need to swap them out.

I'm gonna try my plum with Devlin keycaps just for fun while waiting on my MaxKeys. I want to hear how they sound since they're abs and I've tried only PBTs on it.

Devlin Q series feel really nice. And totally silent. Since they keycaps are really shallow. They don't make contact with the plate when bottoming out.

Does the programming software work on Linux and Mac, or is it Windows only?

Didn'tanage to get it running on Linux. Apparently it's Windows only.

It also doesn't work via virtual box.

That's the only gripe I have with this keyboard.

Otherwise, it's amazing!

I tried to get the source code to re-write it for linux but was unable.

Yes, the program software is only for Win system, but you can program the keyboard in Win and then use the layer in Mac.

BTW, the 45g RGB 75 nano is back in stock for now.

My Plum 75 arrived yesterday. Overall really nice board for the price so far. Still not sure between 35 & 45g switches. And just noticed this detail from the Plum Aliexpress page:

"Clicking distance can be switched between 2mm and 3mm.To make it stable,new keyboard hide this function under firmware. If the keyboard buttons are in a mess when adjusting the clicking distance,you can press Fn+Pagedown for 5s to fix it."

Is actuation something that can be switched on this board via programming?? Have been following this thread for a while now and never saw this mentioned before.

This is function integrated when plum designing the keyboard. For actual keyboard use, this is rarely used. And actually we do not recommend to adjust the distance/responsiveness when keyboard in normal working status, as the change may cause unexpected results if not properly handled...

Plum has just released a new model for black 87 TKL with 30g capacitive switch and black side print POM keycaps. The keyboard is non backlit and has a new design for water resistant feature.

There are only 3 pcs of this RGB backlit PLUM 75 keyboards with 35g . Since Plum will no longer produce RGB models, this will possibly be the last ones. If anyone is fan of RGB backlighting EC keyboards, may consider about it..

I have a non-RGB, 45G, White Nano75 here. No bluetooth, though, and it would make no sense at all to ship it across the pond.

By the way, RGB is not a big deal when you can just turn it off. I turn it off whenever I'm on wireless mode anyway, and it never turns itself on so there's no distraction (or funny looks) at all by the RGB feature.
