The Keyboard Oracle has decided: Yes, if you can afford it, the price for extra quality is almost nothing over the lifetime of the keyboard.

Mister oracle
I'm a very impatient person and I want the kbc vortex. Should I buy it in ansi layout(even I hated ansi layout in every keyboard I have owned) or should I wait 1-2months till its available in iso layout

O majestic Oracle, ultimate pre-cursor, keeper of CTRL and master of all possible ALTs: I seek something tactile yet non-clicky for noise reasons, and at least as heavy as Cherry blues. I do not need a Win key, nor a number pad, but having either is not a burden. I am prepared to buy a board and mod it if I have to. What be your wisdom?

I would recommend a tactile grey switch for space bar on your ergo clear board.nathanscribe wrote:Righto! May your spacebar never dimple.

First job is to find a decent keyboard with clears, or a cheap board and a hundred-odd clear switches...

Hello Mr. Oracle
I find myself in a debacle as I desire the Realforce 103U (White/Gray) but with equally 55g weighted keys, yet the only place I know of to purchase is http://www.elitekeyboards.com and they only carry the black style. Dost thou knoweth of another source?
I reside in the United States.
Many thanks.

Mighty Oracle, let me ask you for help with buying first mechanical keyboard.
Should be cheap, I do not need numpad, I mostly write text, and in the evenings I play World of Tanks if my wife allows me to do it.
Which path should I choose:
- Noppoo Choc Mini
- KBT Race
- KBT Pure
Or something have I forgotten maybe?

O wise Oracle, I seek your advice for a first time keyboard purchase:
I'm primarily on a Mac, but also use Windows for certain games (but not often). Should I go the hardware route and get a Mac-specific keyboard (such as the new Das), or the software route and get a regular PC keyboard and use third party software to remap some keys?
Depending on the above answer, what would be the best MX Blue keyboard to get for <$150 CAD, easily shipped to Canada or the US? I do not mind the numpad and don't need any fancy backlighting.
Thank you for your help.

Thanks very much for your quick reply. It is very appreciated. The Keyboard Oracle wrote:The Keyboard Oracle has decided: The Leopold Tactile Click keyboard from elitekeyboards.com with native Mac compatibility.
One more question regarding the keyboard you showed me: Are all PC keyboards remapped natively like that (with the exception of HHKBs which apparently have drivers), or is it a unique feature of the Leopold? Pardon my lack of knowledge in this field...

The Keyboard Oracle has decided: The common keys work on most, but check before you buy, especially when special (media) keys are involved.
