I would suggest that if you get a Cherry MX based keyboard, do not get a UK layout, go for the US (also called ANSI) since it will be much easier if you want to change keycaps. The Keyboard co also stock US layouts. As for actual recommendations, I suggest a Filco with blue switches: http://www.keyboardco.com/keyboard_deta ... RODUCT=835 great keyboard. I'm also very fond of the buckling spring boards (see earlier link).

Not just in the UK is that a problem mate ..rhizo wrote: The problem in the uk is there's pretty much nowhere to try stuff out... I looked for a while but just got a filco mj1 with mx browns and never looked back...
'Buy it on the internets and return it if you don't like' seems to be the future .
Maybe there's a DT-member in your area willing to let you try some different boards ?
I would go for a UK-layout board btw,
unless you never look at the board when typing (or you actually NEED US-layout, for coding or something)
it probably WILL annoy you that what you see isn't what you get ..
If you don't look at the board, you might as well go 'blank caps', a lot cheaper in the long run !!
