Not as far as I know. Such a modification would have to be done in the sensing circuit somehow I think.

I have not tried it myself, but if you run QMK, apparently you can adjust actuation on the FC660C and FC980C: https://github.com/qmk/qmk_firmware/tre ... nt-example

(Non-coder disclosure. Especially big projects like TMK. Or QMK? Is there a difference?)

Does the FC660C threshhold ajustment require a rebuild and reflash to alter? Being able to fiddle with these things live for on the spot A/B testing is a whole different experience to <HOLD THAT THOUGHT, I’LL TRY ANOTHER NUMBER, JUST GIMME A MINUTE HERE>

Also, any word on whether this would work on the HHKB? As Matteo says, it’s damn nice where it is, but seeing as I have Hasu’s controller…

QMK is "based" on TMK but with a lot of changes, improvements in some areas and, if I'm not mistaken, support for more keyboards than TMK (there are some exceptions, for example the TMK ps2->usb converter is not officially included in QMK, unless things changed, so I made a port some time ago). Hasu "only" manages the TMK firmware.

Yes, the FC660C would need a reflash - and with the link provided by nik137 you can change "live" the actuation point by pressing some key combos and look at the ouput of "hid_listen" (but you would still need then to modify the source and reflash again with the chosen value).

For the HHKB, it seems like it would be possible, but it's not implemented: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=12 ... msg2612288

I happen to have a FC660C with the Hasu controller, and I'm using the actuation point offset in the QMK firmware. I found that when using BKE Redux Light domes I preferred to have it a bit higher up, so that it would actuate just barely after or partly into the collapse. I've gone back to using the stock 45g domes for a bit and it's about right out of the box for those, I've got it set to -1 which is working well for me. It is a lovely feature to have in an expensive keyboard IMO.

I happen to really like the look of the new Realforces actually, it looks quite simple and robust. The side-on view isn't so nice, but I do appreciate the added practicality of the little recesses for picking a heavy keyboard up and moving it around more easily.

@blighty: Thanks for this news! Work and life had me preoccupied for months, and I am still catching up on keyboard happenings after a rather long absence.

@Trev: Great to see you on DT again! Thanks for your observations on the special new RF boards.

I just checked EliteKeyboards here in the USA. They seem to be out of stock on most of their former inventory and no word from them about the new RFs. It appears that Amazon USA had the PFU edition for sale for a limited time, but they are now out of stock with no indication if/when they might be back in stock.

For US customers, eBay from Japan seems to be the only option, at least for now. The feature list makes these boards quite tempting. I have an R1 version of the RF87UB all-45 edition, and I prefer this switch weighting to the all-55g. I haven't tried a variable-weight RF, but I suspect that the 30g keys would be far too light for me.

Will the PFU limited edition be truly limited? I would like to try one, but the price is USD 386, and I am not sure which eBay vendor in Japan to trust.

Perhaps, they're not showing any remaining stock on Amazon.co.jp

I've deleted my previous comments and posted a review in the reviews section.

Overall, I very much like the RF R2 PFU Limited Edition keyboard. I've been typing on it for several days, and I think it might replace my HHKB Pro 2 as my daily driver.

It will be interesting to see how the RF fares in the competition after my F62 finally arrives.
