IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

I do not have any information on it, obvioulsy "KB-5150" is the same as IBM 5150 personal computer which also has the well known XT keyboard. I never heard of "Tecma" before. Nice keyboard BTW.

The keyboard of the 1981 IBM PC 5150 is commonly referred to as the "PC XT" keyboard, although it predates the XT. It was based on the Datamaster keyboard, but was mounted in an external case and used a unidirectional serial connection with a DIN-5 connector. When the PC was released, the keyboard was acclaimed for its touch, but its layout was criticized for having many oddly shaped keys placed close to each other. The US English layout variant had the part number 1501100. The ISO German layout variant had the part number 1501102.

That's very unusual, the key caps on the number row and some of the alphas clearly appear to be Key Tronic-style, which should be a different mount entirely.

Hmm "Tecmar" was an American manufacturer of PC enhancement products based in Solon, OH.

The red LED cutouts definitely look like Keytronic F&F.

It's not Tecmar (not their logo, I was a local.) I'm pretty sure it's a Tecma Group keyboard.

Can anybody tell me anything about this board?
Seems like a POS device but i've searched the ID numbers and can 't find anything.
The only keys that respond are numberpad keys and some random keys on the left that give garbled input strings.
I'd like to find software to reprogram it and get it working again for editing shortcuts.

Take the text of the one box checked on the label to conduct a search and you'll find out:
SMK128 POS keyboard by Taiwan-based Castles Technology Co.
Obviously discontinued a long time ago, no support
and no software available (last rev. was apparently Window XP).

I would suggest you dump it and purchase a Tipro with a USB controller,
you'll be able to use it with a modern 64-bit Windows 10
and do exactly what you describe

This is an old Tektronix keyboard, but I'm wondering if the switches are just salmons with weird color balance or a tactile cream switch. I don't think it's damped cream.

What do you guys think?

Thanks, from what i can find out it should be pretty nice for a rubber dome, so maybe i should buy it.
Granted, the same guy is also selling a very good looking hp c3758a, and i am not sure if i want booth.

Definitely looks like Salmon Alps to me. Some of the Wang terminal keyboards used Salmon Alps, and this certainly looks like a keyboard for a terminal of some sort. I would buy it simply for the caps alone

I found this keyboard and pictures on auction and I'm considering of buying it just to see what kind of switches it has. I will be grateful for any information before end of the auction (which ends in two days).

Don't buy it. It's probably foam and foil. The pattern on the back of the PCB is almost a dead giveaway.

I thought it might be a foam and foil (i own 2-3 boards with newer keytronic or btc foam and foil switches). Still I might buy it if the price drops by 50% just to see how older switch compare with newer ones.

I bought it for half price outside the auction (still delivery cost is equal to price of the board).
I will try to get hold of some camera and shoot some pictures of this board and my others weirder keyboard like Polish hack job clone of IBM model F and board with switches similar to KPT Blue (without KPT logo). Sadly my smart phone is under warranty and my DSLR camera is currently in Africa with my brother.
