Based on several other threads I've found, it looks like alphas were pearl and mods/spacebar were pebble, but wanted to verify that. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

For a few dollars extra, they sell them with green, blue, or red legends on pearl/pebble (and maybe on brilliant white, too, if I am remembering correctly) which are interesting and nice.

Probably an unhelpful reply to your question BUT I think its worth say, the quality of the original IBM keys is excellent. depending on what you are looking for, they can be had quite cheaply. I've picked up a few full-size ISO-UK model M boards for sub £30 in the past... maybe an option for keycap harvesting

Actually the question was for someone else who is ordering replacement spacebars. Of course they could buy twenty IBM boards to harvest spacebars, but that seems quite the waste. ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
