Just found a weird Apple Extended Keyboard I with a strange model number.
At first, it look like a regular AEKI with Alps SKCM Orange, but when you look at the label at the back, it says M0116C... But the M0116 is a totaly different keyboard.. And it's not a mismatch because it seams legit and the label also says Apple Extended Keyboard...
Anyone know about this model?
Thanks!
AEKI with Model Number: M0116C.. Have you ever seen this??

My guess is that the 6 is a mistype, as the board has the correct FCCID for the M0115.
The "C" most likely stands for Canadian, based on the additonal legends it has.
Overall, its a neat board!

But who the hell just makes a typo in a big-brand keyboard's Model No. and then releases it?

Here's an M0116C. Apple Standard Keyboard. Salmon / pink Alps. First hit when I Googled "m0116c apple keyboard." ebait pictures. It's got the Canadian French layout.
Regarding large companies making mistakes with labels, I've seen hundreds of examples, just not in the keyboard world. As always, if it looks like an [insert model name], it IS an [insert model name], regardless of what the label says

Apple in the first half of the 90's was a dysfunctional mess producing buggy products. A typo on a product label from the early 90's doesn't particularly surprise me.Bjerrk wrote: 30 Jun 2022, 05:46 But who the hell just makes a typo in a big-brand keyboard's Model No. and then releases it?
Apple, I thought you were different!![]()
Steve Jobs was brought back in 1996 and almost immediately started axeing product teams, execs, managers, and basically anyone whom he decided (usually after about 10 seconds) was a 'bozo' and who wasn't doing amazing work on a project core to Apple's survival.
He was an asshole, but a highly effective asshole.
