Hi, let me ask you a question. Is it possible to find out the year of manufacture from the serial number of the Cherry G80-3000 keyboard? Thank you very much for your help.

Yes. The last part of the serial number should be a letter indicating the year and two digits indicating the week number.

Thank you for your reply. I see that since 2014 see the table from wiki/Cherry_date_codes they started numbering again from A. If I have code G so the keyboard could be from 1994 or 2020? Do I understand this correctly please?
I'm talking about this keyboard

From the design of the label in the photo, I see it more likely to be a 2020

Thank you

You're on the right track! The usage of the code “G” of course presents many challenges, where it can denote 1994 as well as 2020. If a keyboard looks like other newer keyboards, it was most probably released in 2020.

I didn't know Cherry had a factory in Slovakia. Their older cheaper keyboards were made in Czechia.

Anyway, using common sense: Windows keys weren't a thing in 1994 and neither was USB.

Also, the label has the newer Cherry logo from 2012.
