German company GMK does MX 2shots

Stumbled upon this company GMK.
I did a quick search for GMK on this board but only found a post about some keycaps mounted on a Cherry POS board.
So, they do individual 2shots for Cherry MX mount in different heights and profiles with a "wide range of colours", produce their keycaps in Germany and also have an option for a LED window.
Did somebody hear of them?

They make this board among others. http://deskthority.net/keyboards-f2/wey ... ?hilit=wey
I considered sending them a request a while back, don't remember if I did.

I never said I found them.
I saw a link on the German ComputerBase forum, followed it, continued to here.
I also found leesofi's thread on GH afterwards.
Anyway, this is not about who found them first, I wanted to gather some more information. That's it.
But thanks for your helpful input...
Anyway, I will also send them a request for further details and such.

This is a crazy suggestion, but: a German (or someone who knows German) should give them a call! That way we should get correct information without having to wait forever (they seem a bit slow to respond to emails).
Not that we're in a hurry though.

I plan on doing that if they don't respond to my mail within a week. Tuesday will be call day.

Someone must contact them and ask for samples and prices!
OK, thanks!Acanthophis wrote:I plan on doing that if they don't respond to my mail within a week. Tuesday will be call day.
Ask for a 101 or 104 key layout in one oclor scheme with custom text on the modifiers and in one color scheme. And space bar sizes!
We need 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 5.5, 6, 6.25, 7 and 10 units.

I only need to know their prices and MOQ.BimboBB wrote:If there will be a Round5 with them, i guess that will be huge!
If they really have the original Cherry tools, we will get the text-style we want.
ps: I'm so lucky almost all Round 4 stuff has been sold and paid for!

And news from the courts... GMK Electronics have applied for a restraining order against the keyboard forum member '7bit', notorious for never-ending group buys and repeated stalking and harassment of keycap vendors. GMK have made the unusual request for an exclusion zone measured in internets, and say they are considering a class action on behalf of the many group buy participants. Should this order be granted, 7bit's only internet access would be via Alpha Centauri Bb with a ping of 17.48 years.

I thought Round 4 was a dream and never reached the objective. So it is really into production?

Oh, so you're saying GBR4 never happened then since I never have been to SP or even the state they are located...
DanGWanG and I will be organizing a groupbuy with GMK, and intend to run it cross community. Every effort will be made to offer ISO stuff in as many nationalized variations as possible as well. We don't want to exclude anyone. GMK has also asked that people should refrain contacting them and would prefer to deal with one project of ours initially, but are interested in working with us.
They provided us with this sample of keys that can produce... some nice things here, including clear first shot shown on the white C key.
From our initial talks we were planning on offering the following options for the first buy...
an esc key pack in several colors
modifier pack in a few of most popular color to be decided by polling or an expanded 'moogle' kit that will also include tab, enter, etc to complete vintage sets
RGB set shift ctrl alt with both 1.5 and 1.25 in ansi and iso,
Dolch colorway full sets ansi and iso
black on white/beige full sets ansi and iso
color to be decided by polling on white? full sets ie green on white, blue on white, red on white, etc... one color combination will be chosen
Addressing how to deal with multiple languages for European sets will be an interesting challenge, but I want to try and get as many included into a few major groups. Want to keep things fairly streamlined and straight forward, so the full sets will be all encompassing full sets, we won't be doing all sort of add ons and options.
Assuming this goes well we can maybe get onto some kind of quarterly buy schedule for different color sets or something along those lines.

Is that C on the right made of clear plastic?
BTW, I agree with you that only a few should contact them and not everybody should ask them the same questions over again.
For your "Genuine Cherry Doubleshots Group Buy Round 1" you should have enough time
until I will be able to run Round 2.
edit:
I've got a great idea!
You take over Round 4 and I organise the GMK group buy!

Nice from you to think about international members lysol, thanks
They really have some great exemples. Windowed keys ! I like the sphericals also, up to now I believed that only SP still had molds for them.
I'll look forward to more info about pricing and MOQ.

Don't think so, this Cherry spherical seems to be way taller than the Jarltech ones.Ascaii wrote:Interesting, now I know who made my Jarltech sphericals.
And the inside of the cap just doesn't look like Cherry.

I seem to recall lysol only got the picture from GMK.Lysol, could you post the bottom of it please?

This is huge, but of the above you really should rule some out, black on white full sets are common enough, everyone has copy RGB sets. Get a group buy for a function row + escape key first and also straight onto the dolch!lysol wrote: From our initial talks we were planning on offering the following options for the first buy...

Yes, it's clear on white for backlight style. May organize backlight set in future, but not just yet. I didn't get the physical keys, just a photo so I can't show any more.
Yes they have spherical options, but those won't be included just now either. I would probably leave spherical up to someone else can run separate at a later time. True that black on white/beige is common, but not in new condition and with 1.25 mods and centered caps lock. If it turns out there wont be as much interest as I think we can move on to some other option instead.
So since there are more Euro folk on here than GH, I figure I will ask what you think of my idea for handle the various language. I was thinking to combine language that use the most of same keys together. For example could make Italian/Portuguese/Spanish/Swiss as a group. Likewise I will probably roll US/GB into one set as there are only a few different key. All the keys would be one set, so there would be many extra key for the different languages, but the advantage would be more people order the same set. This way less likely for a particular language to be dropped from option due to low order of a particular set. Do you think thats a smart way to do it?
