Filco v QPAD

So at the moment I have a QFR with Browns, and I'm selling it to get a keyboard with blues. My main two choices that I can get in the UK with the money I have are a Filco Majestouch, which I can get for £90 instead of the usual £120, or a QPAD MK-85 for £84.

Both have blue switches.

One of my friends has a MK-85 and says it's fantastic, but it was his first mech, so I'm not sure how valid his opinion on the matter is.

Filco of course are incredibly reputable for the quality of their boards.

The QPAD has backlighting, which would be nice, although I touch type just fine in the dark anyways, as well as a wrist rest, though it's not a great one and I would probably not use it anyway.

Has anyone here had experience with the QPAD boards? Thoughts on them? And in my position, which would you go for?

Anyone? I'm about to buy and leaning towards the QPAD for the backlighting and wristrest, but input would be very much appreciated

If you ever want to sell the board you should pick the Filco. Who needs backlightning? :D

I have both (actually I have the MK-50 which is the same but without backlighting and fluff) and I really appreciate the higher quality of the Filco. The QPAD it totally ok and could be a good alternative if you want as much as possible for your money. But if that is you options than I would go for the Filco.

I'd say Filco, if you really need backlighting I'd look towards Ducky. While you could probably buy a Qpad and be happy, I don't see any reason to get the Qpad one over something like a Filco, doesn't hurt that the Filco is made by Costar whereas the Qpad boards are made by iOne, although from what I've heard they're made to higher spec than your usual iOne boards.

So yeah, QPad is probably one of the better iOne boards out there, but the Filco is better in pretty much every way. If you really want a wrist rest I'd recommend splurging on the Filco leather one, it's amazing and isn't attached to the board, so you can use it with any keyboard.

A £90 Filco in the UK? First: yes, go for it. Second: where!?

It's an auction, but the seller said that he would sell it for £80 + £12 postage.

If you're looking to get some sweet key caps some day, filco is your choice. Afaik qpad has 6.0 spacebar which isn't very popular.

I'd recommend you for a US layout... I went for the UK and now cannot participant in group buys, most of the stuff does not cater for us ISO users. A shame really but this is how things are.

I won't be making the same mistake again.
