TIL where Mr. Sulu's name came from.
George Takei recalled Gene Roddenberry wanted the character to represent all of Asia, which symbolized the peace of the Trek universe in spite of the numerous wars in the continent. Roddenberry did not want a nationally specific surname, so he looked at a map and saw the Sulu Sea. "He thought, 'Ah, the waters of that sea touch all shores'," the actor recalled, "and that's how my character came to have the name Sulu."[4][5]
Assuming you believe Wikipedia.

I think of Asians as pretty warlike. Even Thai Buddhists like going on rampages from Angor Wat to their own fucking airport.

The province of Sulu derives its name from "sulug" or "sug" which in Tausug means "ocean current," while Sulu's capital Jolo is the Spanish corruption of Sulu. {sulu.gov.ph}

I managed to backup about 10 Ripster Guides before the crash. Can't you just write something to leech text and pics into MediaWiki? My HTML skillz suck.

Alacrajis, Demik, Rknize, Cactux and the rest of the mods.

Can we talk about Uptime versus the importance of Tapatalk Sig infractions?

I'd include ItlnStln but he was dishonorably discharged from Moderator Duties for using TapaTalk.

I'm just updating the list.

Geekhack was down because of DDOS attacks, hacking attempts, a clickclack sale, a database upgrade, failed backups, a hardware upgrade, a RAID failure, wiki restore failure, misaligned position of Venus in the night sky, JAVA ate the SQL server, Flash disk installation, failing RAM.

Funniest thing I've read this week mate!

Java does eat servers! Whys Java.exe eating an entire core? Because that's what it does :)
