it's just a crazy idea, but if I get support from 4-5 people willing to invest we could do pretty nice things I believe.

1) 250 keys limit (many have added multiple spacebars and mods, 250 seems legit)

I don't read DT and GH that much, what exactly are "Lysol and vendors" producing?zulios wrote:Especially now that both Lysol and vendors are already getting keycaps produced, I guess that demand will decrease drastically unless you come up with a great idea once again.

Lysol was starting to organize a small GMK group buy. I'm not sure what happened with that. Another one started here:
http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=39280.0
EliteKeyboards started sell red Esc keys and now sherryton has opened a new Business and is or will be selling at least 4 reproduction Cherry sets from GMK. He recently announced SkiData and there is one more he hasn't announced (but it's grey and more grey).

I just realised that the ~200 sets of keys is a relatively small number. It makes me feel like I have a collectors edition of something
I wish I could get deep dish on D and K as in the old mac keyboards (homing on middle, not pointer, fingers) but it's fine as it is. Besides, I'm not building My Perfect Keyboard™; just a really f@%*king cool one. (Not crazy enough yet. Also must keep reasonable budgets.)

My order shows a value of $765.32 and when I sum everything up, I come to $661.07, $104.25 more!
In Round 4, people had only to pay up to $34 for 'shipping'.

consider that I could have everyone pay just $22. which is the absolute average
EDIT: oh all blanks cost +0.05 because we are "sorting" them into bags of 5

I am the US proxy for this group buy, and have begun contacting buyers using the e-mail addresses you entered with your GH or DT user name as a back-up. I have already found one large order where both were invalid.
Please make sure you've got one or the other correct in Matt3o's ordering system. I am certainly not going to chase people who leave bad/fake addresses.
Thank you.
- Ron | samwisekoi
p.s. If the person who ordered qty 5 of several items and provided a bad AOL address actually wants the order, please send me a PM. Otherwise I will just move along.

Yeah, the paypal one. It's the mention of "GH or DT user name..." OOOH WAIT "with your GH or DT user name as a back-up" was a separate thing. You got me this time, English, but we WILL MEET AGAIN!

You have $680.53 in 1198 keycaps.7bit wrote:My order shows a value of $765.32 and when I sum everything up, I come to $661.07, $104.25 more!
In Round 4, people had only to pay up to $34 for 'shipping'.
1198 + 1% = 1210 (rounded up) to cover SP errors and broken keys (this is an approximation because in reality it is calculated on kits not keys)
680.53 / 1198 * 1210 = $687.35
$687.35 + $48 shipping = $735.35 (please note that you are paying 48 and not 60 even though you need a medium box)
$735.35 + paypal = $757.34
$757.34 + $1 (added at the end of each order to cover packaging expenses) = $758.34
the difference between 765.33 and 757.34 (which is approx another 1%) is to cover people that is not going to pay their invoices and other contingencies.
Anyway being yours a big order you should have been contacted by Ron with more details.

I believe Ron can manage special shipping requests. Did you receive his email? (only for big orders)7bit wrote:Is it possible to ship in 4 separate small boxes?
because special cases are indeed "special", not handled directly by my software but manually by Ron. If you don't pay by paypal you of course won't be charged paypal fees.jil_jil32 wrote:Hi matt3o,
Can you explain for me about my order just like that?
May I know why I have been asked for not using Paypal? And even though, still be charged the Paypal fee?
you have 1506 keys for a value of $810.30. Shipping for you is around $15 (big orders require more packaging material). The math is all above

it is available but we need the release to use it. I don't have it yet, I hope next week. Otherwise we will start production anyway and I'll have SP make the tooling ready for next round.

Last day to review and modify your order!
Tomorrow we sill start invoicing!
Cancel your order now or forever hold your peace.
All incomplete or "weird" orders (you know who you are) will be removed!
Please understand that if you confirm your order now but you don't pay the invoice, all the community is paying for your keycaps... and actually we have such a small buffer that if more than a few is not going to pay, samwisekoi is paying from his very own wallet!
