Edit2: I never noticed the top section had additional detail about the kits in it. So that's my fault and I'm dumb.

Is it similar to this one?zslane wrote: ↑This is what my home keyboard will look like once phase 2 keycaps become reality:
I think the color theme is similar to a recent GMK groupbuy / IC (but I forgot which one).
Edit: it's the GMK Honeywell !

Yeah, that's the general idea. The case really needs to be white though...
Of course, any keycap set calling itself "Honeywell" should be strictly spherical, so I view the GMK set as just plain wrong.

Probably should be a hero and post on the GB thread, "your GMK "Honeywell" set is just plain wrong!"zslane wrote: ↑Yeah, that's the general idea. The case really needs to be white though...

Edit: I mean probably I should be a hero and do that because I kind of agree with you.
Major ingredient in McDonald's burger is not meat, and in their French fries not potatoes, and "Honeywell" set is not spherical.

Okay, yeah, I agree that "wrong" is a pretty strong word. I suppose it would be kindler and gentler to say that GMK Honeywell is simply misnamed (it is also an oxymoron, but that's probably about as provocative as "wrong").

7bit's Round 5, which started in the year 2013, was based on the 1983 Honeywell. That is why the codes start with HONEY! See also: [Photos] A Honeywell Who Dunnit (1983) and [Photos] Round 5: The Cappening.

Dang... such an interesting history about 7bit's "HONEY" codes revealed by the veterans!
Now I can see that zslane is trying to create a modern keyboard with the (almost) exact Honeywell theme.

It's fun to dig up and read some of these old posts.
That is amazing that since quite some years ago, members like matt3o and 7bit (or Hasu too who's more based in GH) have already been creating custom kits for the community, e.g. DSA Granite, Honeywell caps, Hyper7 PCB kit, White Fox 65% kit. And they have still been productive up till today, 7bit has a style of doing magnificent scope gigantic-projects with less interpersonal involvement - perhaps huge projects require more decision efficiency and minimal discussion, and matt3o is more of a style of moving-projects-forward to new stages within manageable size and more interpersonal bringing together people with different talents and expertise.
No wonder a few members told me that 7bit's Rounds of SA caps are probably among the highest quality SA caps in the market right now - the designs and settings keep on being examined by members and refined since 2013.

So tell a newbie how the cream/purple came to be? It looks awesome but I was too late to get it, but is this a pure aesthetic choice or is there somekind of reference to anything like it vintage?

Re: purple/cream - I asked that question a year and a half ago and nobody answered. 7bit must be ashamed of it or something.
You know, I'm really tempted to grab a Hyper7 set, but there are other kits (in availability limbo) I need way more. Grrr.

YAY!!! Part of my order arrived! Seeing and touching these caps, I'm okay with waiting however long it takes for the remainder of the order to show up. Much appreciation to those who organized the buy, collected money, and sorted. It's worth all of it -- money and wait. Thanks!!!

Someone who called himself VPX had run a little group buy at Geekhack ages ago, but without space bars. He got the space bars from Round 4 and because I liked the color of those violett space bars, I've added this color scheme to Round 6.

Hi, I'm new here so I'm not sure I understand how this work.
I found that everything I need is available on the round 6 leftovers page but I'm not sure how to order them.
I tried leaving a message to 7bot but I got no reply.
Am I doing something wrong?
